Comments about Topeak Pannier DryBags - Pair:
I have used these panniers for one long distance tour. They kept the contents dry in a light rain and were tight and stable when on the bike. I have one major complaint. If you use the adaptors that are supplied for the tubing diameter of your rack, the locking mechanism sounds like it clicks when you mount the pannier on the bike, but when you hit a bump it jumps off. The first time one launched off my bike it nearly caused an accident when a car had to maneuver to avoid it. They each came partially off at subsequent bumps. I had to find a store that sold velcro straps so that I could secure them on the racks. If you use velcro to make sure they stay in place I think you'll be very happy with this product.

Comments about Topeak Pannier DryBags - Pair:
This pair of panniers is a good start; excellent volume, they keep your gear dry, etc. However, the handle straps on one came loose in my hand after just one week's light use, and the straps, in general, are poorly sewn.
Also, the hard-shell back makes it very difficult to carry these comfortable on one's person, even with the shoulder straps provided, causing bruises, scrapes, and just generally being a nuisance.
The locking mechanism at the top of the bags is GREAT...but begins to stick after a while.
Overall, it's a good pair of recreational panniers, if you ride only a couple of days out of your week, but I would not recommend them for use on a five-day-per-week commuting schedule, nor would I use them for a long road trip or back-country trip.
I'd recommend it to a hobby cyclist, but not someone like myself.

Comments about Topeak Pannier DryBags - Pair:
I bought these mostly for commuting to work with the possibility of more strenuous applications. The helpful REI mechanics mounted them after hearing my concerns with previous bags I had tried that failed to hold their contents on my my three mile urban commute. The techies even waved goodbye as I rode away and around the block where the first one fell off, along with the company laptop computer it held. I put it back on twice more before reaching home, happy to find the computer had not been damaged. The lousy attachment absolutely cannot be trusted, regardless of fine tuning with the little bits and pieces that are supposed to mate with different types of racks. The REI techs proved to me that this is the case regardless if you are mechanically inclined or an occasional cyclist like me. Using bungies or possibly zipties it might be possible to strap these things to a rack, but DO NOT trust the attaching mechanism. The bags themselves appear waterproof and durable, but are not likely to get this sort of test from me!

Comments about Topeak Pannier DryBags - Pair:
I purchased these bags to use to carry items while riding to work. Bags were functional and mounted easily but have a major design flaw. The plastic between the mount and the bag cracked after my second trip in and bag broke loose off bike. There are small screws and moulded plastic holding the bag to the mounting frame, even with not much weight in bags and riding on streets these still came apart. Consider these only if for usage on road bikes on smooth roads with very light gear. Durability is an issue, To-Peak could of designed these with extra screws in frame to avoid the frame seperation that occured. I plan to return for a more durable bag.
