Comments about Detours Transit Tour Panniers:
These are well made for "light duty" panniers. They are large enough to hold a weeks worth of clothing for a light tour or a days supplies for a commute. They come with rain covers but are not completely waterproof. An excellent value for the price.

Comments about Detours Transit Tour Panniers:
The screws that hold the clips on protrude, quickly poking
holes in the fabric; the nuts on these screws are screwed so tightly
they depress the backboard deeply, which will cause it to break
sooner. I added fender washers and cap nuts, but even better would be to make the the clips solid underneath the nuts so that a
tightly-fastened nut wouldn't deform the backboard. The screws are 4-millimeter.

Comments about Detours Transit Tour Panniers:
I agree with commenter who complained about the screws poking through from the bag mounts. It's a terrible, cheap design. I'm a work commuter and, after just a few uses, the screws punctured holes in a nice folio I was carrying. It seems it would be simple for the manufacturer to find a way to cover the screws or have them flush with the bag.
I replaced these with the next version up from Novara which has plastic tips on each of the screws inside the bag to protect contents. A much smarter, safer design.
Don't buy this bag.
