Comments about Novara Safari Panniers - Rear:
We bought two sets of these for a 2,000 mile tour down the west coast.
They seemed sturdy at first, but one of the zippers disintegrated and the holes had started to wear through the sides after only a week on the road.
We exchanged one pair for Orleib Backrollers at the next REI. (They have been great.)
The remaining pair are wearing out so fast that we will throw them out at the end of the tour, if they last that long.

Comments about Novara Safari Panniers - Rear:
My wife and I bought these panniers to use on day rides during a recent road-biking trip in Sicily. As such, the product's light weight, durability, water-proofing, solid rack attachment system, and simple single-pouch design were ideal. And although the ample storage capacity wasn't necessary for our day rides, we did appreciate the volume, as we used the panniers for our airplane/train/bus carry-ons. (Looping another duffle bag's strap through the pannier's cinch-downs turns the panniers into nice shoulder bags.) We highly recommend this product for any type of similar use.

Comments about Novara Safari Panniers - Rear:
I rode these 2500 miles across USA and they are great! My stuff stayed dry in the heaviest of downpours. They are extremely lightweight in therms of a starting weight, plus very durable. It is possible to puncture the material though so watch where you are leaning your bike. I think the biggest improvement to these panniers which I have never seen before would be a compression valve. You might be familiar with these on some of wxtex's drybags used for kayaking etc. Having this ability would allow your stuff to stay dry but also allow better aerodynamics on the bike if you could compress all your gear down. Anyone else think this is a great idea?

I just got these to use on my bike for getting groceries. They are wonderful and so easy to put on/Take off the racks! Plus, they stay on and don't juiggle when you ride. It makes it easier and safer to ride knowing that the load won't shift on you when you use them!

Comments about Novara Safari Panniers - Rear:
These are of a very Ortlieb-looking design and quality. I bought these, and a Topeak aluminum rear rack, for my wife's commuter bike. She carries a laptop, change of clothes, shoes, towel, lock, tubes, tool kit, etc., in them. The attachment system is well designed and positive. She has some pretty fast downhills on her short commute to San Diego and has yet to lose a pannier! Be sure your rear rack is compatible, and take your time setting up.

great bag in that it keeps my stuff nice and dry. Very durable, I took a high speed spill and they survived very nicely, my leg however is still a little purple. No dividers so if you get mugged on the trail it will take a couples of minutes to find the wallet at the bottom of the bag.

Comments about Novara Safari Panniers - Rear:
I bought the last version of these panieer's (orange colored) for my partner last holiday season. They are roomy enough (and light enough, and water proof enough!) for her to commute each way to work (20 miles total) with room for clothes for the day and food with just one bag. Which leaves me with my own bag to use- I just love it! It is also very easy to use. My only complaint is that I am constantly taking it off my bike to use for grocery shopping, carrying things to my office, etc. and there isn't any real carrying method. It is kind of awkward. There is a rubber hoop for a handle, but it isn't really convenient for walking around. I love the bag otherwise- we both get compliments all of the time.

Comments about Novara Safari Panniers - Rear:
My husband and I bought 2 sets of these back in June. The first week we got them I set mine up and took them to the beach. My bike fell over and I immediately checked out the panniers to see how they had dealt with the fall. Not well. The pannier that hit the ground had a small tear at the bottom, maybe half an inch long. I never checked the ground to see if there was glass that could've cut the pannier, nor if there was a key or something inside the pannier that did it. I was too mad to be logical. Anyway, I called REI and they sent me a new set, which I was hesitant about. I've now had the new set for 2 months and have put about 1000 miles on them, including one tour. The new ones have held up well, and my bike has fallen over numerous times since and no tears. I use them daily in my commute to school, also. They are completely waterproof and very light-weight. The fabric could be tougher, though, and it would be nice if there were hooks or something at the top so that you could put a strap on them for carrying. The little rubber holder is uncomfortable to carry. I really like them, though, and have already recommended them to friends.

Comments about Novara Safari Panniers - Rear:
I used these panniers on my trip across Europe and they held up very well. While the Ortlieb panniers might technically be a better product, they are overly expensive. I highly recommend these panniers.

Comments about Novara Safari Panniers - Rear:
These are everything they claim to be. They are roomy and perfect for long rides in wet weather.
If you damage the attachment hardware in a wreck, Novara sells replacement parts.
If you need to easily carry the destination contents, you may want a more versatile backpack-conversion pannier for that.
