Somewhat heavy but is very comfortable for long rides and for back to back rides when you start to get sore muscles. Would not give 5 stars since it is too bulky and a little wide. Nice saddle for recreational mountainbiking on rocky trails. Overall the comfort is worth the extra weight. I ride better with this seat then the 220gram racing seat that I formerly used because I do not fatigue as easily.

I got this saddle a few weeks ago. After not liking 2 other saddles, I was about to give up this lets start biking idea. I was getting so much pain from the other saddles that ridding for more than just a few mils hurt and it was bumming me out. So I went back to REI and ask for some help. [...] Anyways after talking to one of the sales men he suggested this saddle. The difference is night and day. No pain and all joy. I even stopped driving to work in favor of a joy ride. I love this saddle!!!

This is the best saddle I've ever had on any bike. I bought this last year to replace the saddle on my Specialized 29er mountain bike. What a world of difference. Sure, it's heavier than other seats. But you will not notice. I am a lot less fatigued with this seat. I also bought one for my Novara Big Buzz commuter bike. It's a great bike but the seat was killing me. Not any more. This seat is great for any bike. I'm probably going to put one on my road racing bike too. The weight penalty for adding this to your bike is more than made up for with less fatigue and more comfort.

I too have a Trek 4300 and needed a new saddle for my longer rides. I'm 5'10" and 220lb. The seat is very comfortable and I don't get sore or tired riding over 15 miles at a time. There is a clicking noise when I raise off the saddle, but that's not an issue for me. It's not too big like a cruiser saddle either, it's just a little bit bigger than the stock seat sold with my bike.

Just came back from my first ride on this saddle. 34 miles with much more comfort than the original saddle on my Trek 7300. Also, no perineal numbness that was always a danger with the original saddle. I didn't notice any downside to this Serfas saddle.

This is the first seat I've used that didn't require padded shorts. I've ridden in jeans since purchasing this seat.30 miles paved, no problem.16 miles gravel road, not sore. 8 miles of rocky trail, no pain.
After 3 seasons the lycra is wearing off so I will get another. I love this seat.

I got this seat based on the reviews I read here. I've never been a real cyclist, but got the urge to do a century ride and was told by a friend that I would definitely need some chamois cream.

Haven't done the century yet, but since I got the seat I've rode about 200 miles and haven't felt any worse for wear. This is a really comfortable seat. I just did a 60 mile ride, mostly in the rain, and didn't haven any trouble with slipping or anything.

Only defect is the silk screen on front of saddle rubs off on the first long ride. It is a very comfortable seat, much better than the gel bd seat that came on my Specialized Tri-Cross bike. I did 150 miles in 2 days with this seat, where previously I used to hate to be in the saddle more than 30 miles.
