The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Serfas E-Gel Cruiser Saddle - Men's:
The seat has a nice soft gel padding when you touch it, however, when you sit on it, it does feel somewhat hard. I wish it was more softer like a sponge, as opposed to a gel.
The positive side to this seat is the cutout section for the perineum. This seat is so much more comfortable in that area as opposed to a seat with a standard horn and no hole for the perineum.
I was a little disappointed that the tag on the packaging of the seat said that it was unisex but REI has it advertised for Men. There were other seats on REI that I liked better and was less priced, but those were marketed as women's seats, and of course, I didn't want to buy a "woman's seat" for my bike. Don't know what to think now.
I was also taken back in regards to the smell of the seat. It has a very strong odor similar to a white board marker pen. Very toxic smelling.

Comments about Serfas E-Gel Cruiser Saddle - Men's:
This is the fourth saddle I've purchased since last summer's cycling season, and I am beyond happy! Finally, a saddle that accomodates the sit bones properly when in the more upright riding position of my Trek 7200 hybrid!! There is good padding, yet the saddle is firm enough to afford support on longer rides I usually take (25-35 miles). And the cutout design allows greater flexibility in adjusting saddle tilt without compressing the perinium area at all! The full suspension design is nice; I was a bit concerned the rear springs would result in too much vertical motion, but they are stiff enough to offer stability without being too unforgiving. And none of the tailbone discomfort I'd experienced with the other three saddles I'd purchased! All in all, a great saddle for the upright riders out there! At [$], I think it is worth every dime! Comments about Serfas E-Gel Cruiser Saddle - Men's:
I've tried five different saddles on my current bike, and this one is the best. I never suffer any pain with it, even after twenty miles. I'm a fun rider, not a fast rider, but I like to stay out for a couple of hours, at least.
Best for riders who sit more upright, and probably will be liked best by women, as it's a very wide saddle. Best suited to hybrid/comfort bikes.

Comments about Serfas E-Gel Cruiser Saddle - Men's:
I ride a Cannondale comfort bike to commute and to play in Colorado. This seat makes all of my riding much more enjoyable. The dimensions and padding are well designed for my 59 year old butt and the perineal space is long overdue. Men need to realize that the wrong saddle can cause damage to the nerves in the perineal area with disastrous results. My Brooks saddle went onto [...] the day after I tried the E-Gel. One caution is not to leave the saddle in direct sunlight, if possible, because the gel material gets very hot.

Comments about Serfas E-Gel Cruiser Saddle - Men's:
After several years of not riding a bicycle, I decided to add riding to my exercise routine. I dusted off my old Kuwahara hybrid (yeah, I know, you haven't heard of this brand)and quickly found I needed new tires, inner tubes and a seat. The tires and tubes were easy.
Wow. I had no idea what a pain in the butt (literally) finding a seat would be. The first seat was like a covered brick. The second seat just didn't work for me (thank goodness for REI's generous return policy). So I did some reading and decided all I needed was a big seat with some springs. What a difference this seat has made. I am riding up to 10 miles with no issues and am ready to increase to 15 and 20 miles.
You can read all the other info about this seat being specifically designed for the male anatomy.
All I know is my back is happy, my legs are happy, and my 'sit upon' is happy. What a joy to ride again.

Comments about Serfas E-Gel Cruiser Saddle - Men's:
Wanted something to get rid of the soreness. I ride on a regular basis and even tried the bike pants, but the trails still got to me. Yes, I lift off the seat in the real rough spots but sit on the "smoother" stuff.
Anyway, after a few times on the same trail, no soreness like I was getting. The seat actually looks good on the bike to me. It's not a tractor seat by no means so don't let the name Cruiser scare you.
It is on my hardtail. Yes, it's heavier than "technical" seats, but I didn't notice any difference since I don't race.

Comments about Serfas E-Gel Cruiser Saddle - Men's:
This is my 4th saddle for my Raleigh 4.0 Passage hybrid bike. I commute about 16 miles round trip. I'm 65 years young. This saddle fits my butt just right and I don't feel pressure in my groin area like I did with the other 3 saddles I own (including the one that came with the bike). No complaints whatsoever! Feels great & doesn't chafe my bottom either! Definitely worth the bucks!

Comments about Serfas E-Gel Cruiser Saddle - Men's:
I placed this on a cheap mountain bike frame to replace the hard, narrow saddle that created pain within the first mile. This wider saddle has the correct padding for my frame - 150 lbs and 6'0'. The difference was amazing - I can ride for miles and miles with comfort. Even though this seat probably cost more than my frame, it's a keeper.

Comments about Serfas E-Gel Cruiser Saddle - Men's:
This seat makes riding fun again and I've steadily increased my mileage. After 2 or 3 seasons the seat cover split. Serfas tells me hot sunlight will do this and it isn't warranted. You'll also burn your butt if you hop on the seat after it sits in the sun. I need to rig some sort of cover.

I got this seat for my Mukluk snowbike. This seat is super comfortable for long rides, especially when riding in an upright position. Works great for winter riding. Stays soft and comfortable, even below zero.
