The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Mombasa Nimbus Mosquito Net:
Good product, replacing "Spider" net of some years ago. Bamboo top spreader frame folds for good packing into cylindrical shape, 3" diameter x14" length. Used to be made in Thailand, now made in China and inferior quality. Bamboo frame comes with rough edges and splinters that will tear insert pockets. I returned one, but the replacement was as rough, so I sanded the frame with fine sandpaper. If yours is rough or sharp-edged, sand frame "fingers" and tips before using, to prevent tearing net. The bamboo is not as good straight-grain quality as before. Also check all net seams for evidence of poor quality sewing, before using it in the field (a stitch in time saves nine). I still strongly recommend this net for serious users because of its design and utility. A compact, folding spreader frame (more compact than the collapsible hoop in some nets) helps keep net away from body. General quality of the net is good; mosquito nets are, by nature, fragile and will need to be mended or replaced eventually. This net does the job, but manufacturer needs to improve quality control on frame fingers and net seams. (I also recommend permethrin treatment, either by buying the pre-treated net or treating it yourself; if the latter, I advise permethrin soak, if you can find it, rather than the spray.) Bottom line: REI should keep offering this net, but insist that manufacturer use better grade bamboo; make sure the fingers are smooth; and reinforce net seams.

Comments about Mombasa Nimbus Mosquito Net:
Having moved to Southern Mexico, where mosquitoes are a year-round treat, I installed this mosquito net over our queen bed. It has been a life saver and even our cat has taken to sleeping INSIDE the net, having learnt how to get into the thing.
The down side is that you do need a place on the ceiling from which to suspend it. We have used it intensively for a year now and it is still in fairly good shape, although I did have to apply my sewing skills in various spots near the bottom..
I am now buying another one to cover my soon-to-arrive newborn and his/her crib, so it's good stuff!

Comments about Mombasa Nimbus Mosquito Net:
The holes are quite large, making me uneasy about how effective it would be against many tiny biting insects. It would be better if the net was pre-treated with permethrin since holes are so large. It would be easier to put up if a roll of tape was included and it could be taped from the ceiling...as such we always needed to find two fairly level points from which to tie string on which we'd suspend the net. The large holes DO mean that in warm weather, the net feels cooler. It was fairly light and easy to pack away and did give us a little peace of mind knowing that no gigantic spiders were crawling into our ears!

Comments about Mombasa Nimbus Mosquito Net:
Looks decent, for the price. Setup=5min. Only problems could be if not able to mount hook to ceiling and no way to seal fly. Best to pack some safety pins & a sewing kit.
