I have this bell on both my city bike and my road bike. On the city bike, with flat bars and a RapidFire Plus-type rear shifter, (no front shifter, as I have the bike set up with a single chainring) I have the bell mounted on the under left side of the handlebar, so that pushing its lever with my left thumb is comparable to making a downshift with my right thumb. Mounting it that way also means that I can apply the front brake and ring the bell simultaneously if necessary.

My road bike is an older model with a quill-type stem. I have its bell mounted at the top of the quill on the right side, with the lever positioned straight up, which I can push forward with my right thumb.

These mounting locations on my bikes are both 22.2mm diameter, and the bell's bracket fits fine using the included rubber shim.

This is one of the Mirrycle bell models that rings at the same volume regardless of how fast or hard the lever is pushed--a characteristic I prefer in a bike bell. I find it to be loud enough for the situations where I'd want to use it, and I haven't had any instances of the lever getting stuck. Lever action is smooth and has the right amount of resistance. As alluded to in the product description, one push and release of the lever rings the bell twice.

I also appreciate the fact that this bell does not make any sound when riding over rough road surfaces. It remains silent unless/until I push the lever.

This bell has a nice ring tone, but it is too understated. It is not loud enough to cut through the noise in a city environment - trucks, buses and construction noise drown out the sound. If you are in a country lane, it is very polite. One final thing, the lever has a tendency to hang up at times.
