Comments about Alps Mountaineering Cyclone Compression Sack - Medium - Overstock:
These compression sacks are great for getting clothes and jackets to fit neatly into a kayak storage hatch. Most compressions sacks squash everything into a ball whereas this keeps the length but reduces the diameter. They are light weight and durable, great for tossing or cramming without worrying about it ripping or splitting. Use a thin drysack around your gear before loading into this sack to make things waterproof.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Cyclone Compression Sack - Medium - Overstock:
I find it very hard to use as stuff a sleeping bag into the relatively vertical built is hard and the fact that there are 3 straps didn't help much in the compression while adds more weight than a bag with drawcord and four vertical straps.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Cyclone Compression Sack - Medium - Overstock:
I bought this to compress my synthetic winter bag down to a packable size. It does little to actually compress because it only compresses from one side of the sack. If I compress my bag as much as this sack will allow it ends up a misshapen kidney bean shape that is only slightly smaller than the original stuff sack. It also weighs about half a pound more than the original sack. It is well constructed of quality materials though. I say dont buy it unless you're a car camper that is looking for a tough stuff sack.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Cyclone Compression Sack - Medium - Overstock:
Tough to believe people commented that it doesn't compress much - must be their astigmatism?
They compress down into the same physically compressed space as the sleeping bag, clothes, etc will crush down regardless of the stuff sack shape, but the beauty of these is that they compress everything into a longer tube-shape instead of into a ball-shape.
The longer, skinny packages are easy to push together down into a pack, making it easier to find what you need along the way & when you arrive at your destination, without having to pull everything out to sort it.
Kudos! Wish more companies would get the idea!
They are a little heavier than some compression sacks, but the ease of packing & durability make them worry-free.
