The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Mountain House Macaroni and Cheese - 2 Servings:
This seems to be one of the faster "cooking" MH meals. I won't tell you it's good for you or low in salt. But, if you like the good brand of frozen mac'n'cheese, you'll like this. It also has one of the highest calorie levels of the MH meals. Kids will eat it up.

Comments about Mountain House Macaroni and Cheese - 2 Servings:
This is by far one of the tastiest quick meals that mountain house makes. At the end of a hard day on the trail, this is good stuff.

Comments about Mountain House Macaroni and Cheese - 2 Servings:
I prepared this meal at 6000 feet, with temperatures in the high 40s F. This could explain why it just didn't cook all the way through. I gave it extra time too, but still the macaroni was too chewy, and no it wasn't "al dente", it was under cooked. I think it may be be due to the temperature of the boiling water (10F cooler at 6000 feet).
The sauce tasted good though and I still ate it all (was hungry!). I didn't find it to be too salty, and I believe the reason that pretty much all dehydrated food is salty is that it's intended for those that are backpacking and/or hiking and could use the extra salt for hydration purposes. I could be wrong...

Comments about Mountain House Macaroni and Cheese - 2 Servings:
Took this backpacking and as with the chile mac the 20 oz meal for two was watery while the single serving pouch turned out nice and thick and yummy. Also would try adding less water next time. It did require longer than stated cooking time for tender noodles.
Comments about Mountain House Macaroni and Cheese - 2 Servings:
This is really good. The only thing I'd change is give it less sauce, and more noodles...and of course less salt.

Comments about Mountain House Macaroni and Cheese - 2 Servings:
There's nearly a daily dose of sodium in just one of the two servings. My companion didn't like the excessive salt, so I ate the 2 servings. I generally don't mind salty foods but this one was over the top. This one meal put me over 100% of the recommended sodium for the day. I don't think you need that much salt for flavoring this meal.

We took this on a trip with a variety of other foods, and it stood out as the absolute worst. Tasteless and way too much sauce.

Comments about Mountain House Macaroni and Cheese - 2 Servings:
Don't listen to the bad reviews on the mac. I've used several mountain house items over the past couple years and trust me when I say, this is the only one that is worthy of replacing your favorite home recipe. Sure, there are many other good MH dishes, but when I (who is not a mac n cheese fan, ask my wife) am only putting one review out here and only for the mac, you know it's gotta be good. Even if you don't like mac n cheese, you've gotta try this! Even if only for at home! You'll be like... WOW!

Comments about Mountain House Macaroni and Cheese - 2 Servings:
I buy a lot of Mountain House meals for backpacking; this is another good one in their line. The noodles are nice and plump and the cheese coats them pretty well, particularly if you use a little less water than MH suggests (about 2 oz. less seems about right). Like most of their other products, one "two-serving" pouch is too little for two people but just right for one, though watch out for the sodium content--as I recall this one was particularly high in sodium, though you also get a lot of protein for muscle recovery.

Comments about Mountain House Macaroni and Cheese - 2 Servings:
We used it on a 50 mile backpacking trip and loved it. For variation, we added a foil pack of tuna to it. Plan to use it again when we're on Isle Royale this fall! It does need a bit longer cooking time.
