Comments about Omega Pacific Doval Wiregate Carabiner:
I bought over a dozen of these carabiners in ~2002 and I've used them over the years on long trad and hard sport routes. Having a couple on your rack is fine, but I strongly recommend against outfitting much of your rack w/ the Doval because they are very difficult to clip.
It is nearly impossible to determine which side of the gate opens when you hold the device because of the symmetrical shape. Visual inspection or testing the gate with your fingers is often required to determine if you've got the correct position. Also, the gate door feels narrow and ropes do not easily slide through when clipping.

Comments about Omega Pacific Doval Wiregate Carabiner:
I have a love hate relationship with this carabiner. I love the weight and feel, but I hate the shape. They rotated through my rack taking turns racking gear (oval is great for wired stoppers and hexes), hanging from shoulder runners, and on the rope side of sport draws (they have a good rope-bearing surface). Their tendency to rotate has rendered them too frustrating for anything but racking shoes. They work great on a quickdraw with rubber on the rope side to keep the biner from rotating, but even there I've replaced them with lighter wiregates.

Comments about Omega Pacific Doval Wiregate Carabiner:
The best oval, incredibly light and great for building anchors and racking gear. I use these to rack my Stoppers and I hardly know they're there.
Comments about Omega Pacific Doval Wiregate Carabiner:
I got these on sale [...] for a great price, which made it much more worthwhile.Pros: Fairly standard weight for wire-gate carabiner (30g) with decent-sized gate opening (25mm). I like the red color for ease of finding on my rack. I converted all my rack 'biners to red Dovals. It saved appreciable weight and made it easy to spot my pro versus slings/draws on my harness.Cons: Since it's a simple oval shape it's a bit difficult to tell which side the gate opens on which can be disconcerning while placing gear while under pressure. Also, if purchasing for full-price, if you don't need red & don't need a true oval, you can get other wire-gates that are lighter weight with the same gate clearance for the same price (see Trango superfly & Mammut Element wires).
