Comments about Omega Pacific ISO Locking Standard D Carabiner - Anodized:
This was the first carabiner I ever bought. I bought it while on deployment to Iraq and I have hung gear on it since 2004. Now it is holding me while I climb. Its too small gated to be a belay biner but i suppose it could be used in a pinch. But it is STRONG. After two trips around the world and in some of the worst environments imaginable it is still holding strong. I have lots of carabiners now but this one will always have a sweet spot in my heart. When it gets retired I'll get another one and put this one in my camping gear box.

Great looking glossy black, locking D caribiners! Not a bad price; strong; light-weight. Great gear!

Comments about Omega Pacific ISO Locking Standard D Carabiner - Anodized:
Bought 6 of these for my first rack in '05. They are the strongest biners out there! I've used and abused these babies in every way imaginable (at one point I made a chain to tow a car out of a snowy berm)
Most omega stuff is super duty for the military, police, and rescue so they're too heavy, that's just omega, for real climbing
but for rappelling/rap jumping they fit the bill. I use my remaining ones to set up top ropes now. If you buy black you'll have silver in a month. other than that, they'rrre Grrrreat!

Comments about Omega Pacific ISO Locking Standard D Carabiner - Anodized:
The only downside to this carabiner is that the locking mechanism locks up sometimes making it difficult to unlock with one hand. If you are like me and try to muli-task, I would suggest getting used to opening with one hand before you head out with the intent on using this biner. Other than that, this biner is perfect!

Overall it is a good carabiner but it does scratch easy. And sometimes it is hard to use while rappelling with an ATC the sharp bend at the end gets caught up.

Comments about Omega Pacific ISO Locking Standard D Carabiner - Anodized:
These were my first lockers and I still use them for anchor building when I take people out for top rope sessions. The anodization wears off very easily compared to other anodized carabiners. I now use them in pairs with an anodized carabiner for the bolt side and non-anodized for the rope side. This ensures the rope will never run through a carabiner that's been damaged by a bolt.
The weight is a deterrent to taking them on lead, as is the smaller opening that can make anchor building a chore after a hard lead.

Comments about Omega Pacific ISO Locking Standard D Carabiner - Anodized:
I thought that the black was an odd idea, but all-in all, it's a strong, somewhat light-weight biner. Scratches are a little more noticeable with these because the silver shows through the affected areas. I will continue to use them.

Comments about Omega Pacific ISO Locking Standard D Carabiner - Anodized:
Huge load capacity, easy to lock, and does not come unlocked. It's a D, so it's not something to belay off or to use as the powerpoint of an anchor (unless you're TRing), but if you've a reasonable amount of climbing experience, that should be obvious enough. I use these biners very often with two-bolt anchors.

Comments about Omega Pacific ISO Locking Standard D Carabiner - Anodized:
This is a simple, basic, all-around locking 'biner. Easy to open, but won't unlock unless you want it to. I only got the black annodized finish to help differentiate it from my friends' gear, but don't expect the finish to stay perfect for long. Overall outstanding performance.
