Comments about Mountain House Wild Rice and Mushroom Pilaf For Two:
I have had a lot of awful pre-packaged backpacking food, but I really enjoy this meal! The title ogrinally turned me off, this was the last package we had on a trip and I was not looking forward to it. To my surprise, it was really good. Good flavor, lots of veggies, and filling. Now this is the first pre-packaged meal I buy.

Comments about Mountain House Wild Rice and Mushroom Pilaf For Two:
This is a great vegetarian option. My problem was I followed the directions and let it sit at the longest suggested time and it was still crunchy! It probably should be 10-12 minutes.

Comments about Mountain House Wild Rice and Mushroom Pilaf For Two:
This meal was fine...tasted OK, but not great. We used the 2-person serving for a 1-person meal, and that was a little too much food; but we don't think half of this package would have been enough for one person. General comments about Mountain House meals: After a few meals we started adding a bit more water than the instructions called for, and let the meals "sit" longer than the instructions said, and that improved the consistency. The meals started out very hot (it helped to have a bandana to use to insulate our hands from the hot package), and stayed warm almost to the end of the meals -- we were eating in temperatures in the mid 50's. We added a bit of olive oil to each meal, thinking that might improve the flavor and add calories.

Comments about Mountain House Wild Rice and Mushroom Pilaf For Two:
Despite being called a 'Pilaf' it's actually more of a 'Risotto' -- because there's just a ton of creamy cheese in the sauce; I had it recently on a trip to Snow Mountain wildnersee in Mendocino National Forest and it was going to be a light lunch with some corn kernels for three of us -- it was just fanstastic!!
