Almost too much "mexican flavoring powder" used in this meal. Even adding a little extra water could not powerdown the amount of spice and flavoring. The beans did not reconstitute well, even after 20 minutes.

This is one of my least favorite meals. I find that it is a little bit to seasoned, has to many beans compared to chicken, and frankly does not taste to good. When something called Rice and Chicken one might expect there to be mostly rice and chicken. But this meal is mostly rice and beans with about as much chicken as there are peppers.

Tastes great. Didn't find it to be "over-spiced" as some other reviewers did. Could have used a few more minutes cooking to get the beans perfect but the recommended 9 minutes was adequate.

Definitely wouldn't mind eating this 2 nights in a row.

As with all MH meals I've had: a 2-serving size will adequately fill you up; double that or go with the 4-serving size for two people.

Took this backpacking and we loved it. It did take a few minutes longer to cook than stated on packaging in order for beans to become tender. Plenty for two female hikers (with a cup of soup appetizer). Pretty spicy though and I like a lot of spice. Would definitely have this two nights on our next trip.

We tried a bunch of different freeze dried foods on our last canoe camping trip. This one was the best tasting by far, almost like momma makes it at home.

The only negative was the package is bulky, but it collapses flat to pack out. Great to mix the food in, though.

Taco's in a bag! We always like chicken and rice combinations on the trail, and this one has some kick to it. The only complaint is the extra bulk in the packaging/lack of vacuum that takes up more space in the pack. Definately buying it again.
