Bought this product to achieve a greater overall hand strength and some contact strength. For overall hand strength, this is where it makes its money. It is however, severely lacking if you are looking for contact or individual finger strength. I bought the whole series and found the red to be way too easy, the blue to be for the average weekend climber, and the purple was a decent workout. The red/easy one burst after about 45 days, due to the inner portion of the sack being stretched too far and bursting.

While the other reviewers are right, the rubber wears out with use, it can be fixed cheaply.
Buy a bag of 10" balloons for a couple bucks. When you notice a break in the outer cover, take a balloon, trim off the stem and stretch it over the ball. This will keep a fresh surface for wear, and over time, with more layers added, progrssively makes it stiffer and more of a workout.

Most of the reviewers are complaining about the Gripp when i haven't experienced any of these problems. Ive had mine for almost a year and use it virtually every day. No busts or problems. Maybe some of you don't know how to treat yours. BUT if you really want to improve grip strength i recommend a Gyro ball. Very fun to use and VERY effective but its quite a bit more expensive.

I would use this at intersections or during traffic in my truck to for stress and keeping my grip strengthening. However, it exploded in my vehicle and is "literally" everywhere in the cab.

Blue was good for toning my grip muscles. Purple was great if I wanted to challenge myself. The outer balloon material disintegrated within a year and I found they were filled with bird seeds. Perhaps a more durable, quality outer material would make this a more exceptional product.

I had the Gripp on my desk to use while waiting for my computer to boot-up, etc., and the end just broke open and small seeds are leaking out of it. It was probably a couple years old, and only lightly used. I won't buy another.
