Mammut T-Peak Headlamp is rated 2.6667 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Forgettable. I purchased this on sale, looking for a lighter spare headlamp to go alongside my Black Diamond Icon. I received the headlamp today, and these are my initial thoughts: -It is light, at a claimed 2.5 oz. -I really dislike the power button. It is small and hard to find repeatably. I'm a 32 year old male that's athletically built and work with my hands for a living and this button drives me nuts. For me, this lamp would be very difficult to turn on and off with any kind of gloves on. -There is no ability to turn the light on/off at a specific beam setting, you have to scroll through all of the settings to find the one you're looking for, and then to turn it off again. -No red light option. -The pivot on the light for locating the beam is quite loose and causes more difficulty in attempting to turn the light on and off. The light output and variance in beam settings seems quite good, but I am not going to comment on the longevity of battery life or how this lamp holds up under use. Overall, I think Mammut is simply fishing for a bit of the market share with a lamp like this, but they're not going to get it from me. These are observations that could be made pretty easily if I could have handled this in the store, but that wasn't possible. This lamp isn't terrible, it's just not great. It's quite forgettable. Based on my initial interaction with this lamp (I had to order it, it was not in stock at my local store), I will be returning it for something different.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good headlamp, may be overpriced This product is a good value for money. The combined output of all the LEDs produces bright, crisp light that extends quite a good distance. At the same time, the lower brightness is adjustable to make reading possible without keeping tent mates awake with harsh light while reading, etc. It also has an outstanding range of pitch, allowing for light to be pointed straight out in front or down towards one's hands quite easily and quickly. This may reduce the overall durability due to hinges, but it seems fins so far. The lack of a red light feature is a bit of a disappointment, though. Particularly when nature calls at night, I like to be able to exit the tent with minimal disruption to my night vision. It's always nice to have a view while you're out at night... And yes, this was a gift. I like it a lot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bright, flimsy and awkward I've had this headlamp for a little over a year. Bright and lightweight as advertised. But the overall feel is of cheap flimsy plastic. The pivot for angling the beam feels loose and unstable. Worst, from the start the on/off button was awkward and hard to operate - a near impossibility with gloves on. Now after a year of intermittent use the button stopped working altogether (on a cold dark night high in the mountains). Given the price tag I would expect a whole lot more.
