Just got them so no durability test yet, but these fit my slim build more than almost all other synthetic hiking pants. I was looking for some skinny leg pants that are easy to ride a bike without having to bother with cuff securing and something that was not so strange looking that they were workplace incompatible. These pants fit the bill. Seem to be slightly larger in the waste with a 30" fitting my normal 31". Only less than perfect aspect is the nylon fabric clings a bit to the skin and makes more noise than some other types. I really like the REI Adventures pant fabric more but they have rather wide (straight fit) leg openings that get in the way of sprockets.
I bought a pair of these to wear on a trip to Europe, and absolutely loved them. When I returned home I immediately ordered a second pair in another color. While I am glad another reviewer finally found his slim fit pants, don't let those of you with less-than-slim-fit bodies like mine turn away from them. He simply means the pants are not baggy in the legs; quite flattering even for my build (5'10", 195 pounds). They make good travel pants, hiking pants, all-around use pants.
I work outside every day and need to stay limber. Whether it's swinging a hammer wearing a pouch or running a chainsaw with donned chaps, my Arch Rock pants are flexible in the crotch and just stretchy enough in the knees. These pants are as tough as they are quick to dry. Even with an layer of long underwear underneath, my Arch Rock pants are flexible. The hand pockets are easy access. I like the leg zipped pocket but would make it a little smaller as anything with weight tends to ramble around in there. These pants are truly three season pants stand alone and a great water resistant winter pant with an added thermal under layer.
I bought these a couple of months ago and have worn them numerous times since. Long hikes up mountains, a day rock climbing in Rumney, NH, camping, and as field pants while photographing mountain bike races. They are nice and lightweight and stretch well. My only gripe is they are tight around the legs from the knees down and can't go over the tops of my boots or shoes.
I bought these pants for fall and spring hiking - for those days when it is too cold for shorts but not so cold that I need heavier pants. I wore these pants on Thanksgiving Friday - hiking and rock scrambling by 60 degrees. They were comfortable and show no signs of being scraped over rocks. The next day I wore them hiking when it was windy and in the 30s. I was satisfied with the way they kept me warm. The pants are well made and have a little stretch to them. The reason I give them only 4 stars is that they seem a little short - shorter than other pants I have with 34" inseams - including other pants by Marmot.
Really like the fit of these pants! I'm 6' 4", 200 lbs, and the 36" waist 34" length fit perfectly. I'm usually a 34" or 35" waist in casual pants, but the 36" in these (and also the Scree pants) is perfect. The fit is trim but not skinny, and the fabric has enough stretch to move with you when you clamber over boulders and whatnot. The material is pretty thin, so you will need to layer if the temperature drops. I wore them pretty much for a week straight in Banff, and they worked perfectly, whether hiking around carrying a 30lb pack or sipping beers on the shores of Lake Louise. Only beef is that they tend to attract static, but I found that I did not notice it on the trail.
I purchased these pants to become my backpacking/general outdoors pants. They are much thinner than I expected, but I have no complaints after 3 weekend backpacking trips. The black is a little dull, but I couldn't find black hiking pants anywhere so kudos just for stocking them. They're a very classy, functional pant and are surprisingly warm and breathing. Marmot is my first stop for all gear purchases, and I'm always impressed. Thanks guys!
I bought a pair of these about 4 months ago and immediately ordered a second pair after receiving the first pair. They're comfortable, they fit well, they're try to size, and they look good. The pockets have held up well to my keys and wallet and phone and anything else I've thrown in there. They aren't restrictive either, it's easy to move around in them. I've worn them everywhere from going back and forth to classes, out shoveling, camping, short hikes, and in the rain. They definitely get wet in the rain, but they dry very quickly. They'll fit over a pair of hiking boots, or comfortably with a pair of boat shoes or sneakers. Absolutely love them and will buy more when I wear these out
Sturdy construction. The tapered legs make for a great fit and make them less baggy than a lot of the other pants on the market.
Wore a pair of these pants nearly 24/7 while on an 8 day backpacking trip in the Sawatch range recently and they performed more than adequately. Comfortable during long days of hiking and durable enough to withstand sliding down boulders and downed trees. They are also water resistant enough to get you through a light rain. They did fit a hair loose on me but with an elastic belt were just fine. They also work great as a pant to wear underneath waders while fishing. All in all a great product I would recommend to anyone who wants a pair of performance pants that can take abuse in the field!
