    • Concave burner head has a ledge around it that acts as a wind shield; small gap between the base of your cooking pot and the stove's burner head limits the winds access
    • Micro regulator creates a consistent flame in cold temperatures and throughout the life of the fuel canister
    • Boils 1 liter of water in just over 4 min.; one 8 oz. fuel canister provides about 1.5 hrs. of burn time
    • Piezo igniter runs through the center post of the stove, protecting the igniter from impact and creating reliable lighting performance
    • Built-in piezo igniter sends out an electric spark that starts the flame once the gas is turned on; no matches required!
    • TriFlex three-prong pot support is ideal for holding small ultralight pots
    • Purchase the WindMaster stove 4Flex pot support (sold separately) to cook with larger pots when you're camping with a group; 4Flex pot support has a 5.7 in. diameter
    • The Soto WindMaster stove packs down small for easy transport on ultralight backpacking trips

by fromExcellent at 9,500' elevation (Mueller SP, CO) The Soto WindMaster stove was tough to find; I ordered it back in May (back-order) and it finally shipped just in time for our trip to Mueller SP, CO. Base camp elevation was around 9,500' and this stove slightly outperformed another popular stove that we also own & brought with us (the MSR Pocket Rocket). Soto's stove comes with a piezo igniter (push-to-ignite) while the competitor's stove does not. Heat and boil times were slightly faster than our older stove and the WindMaster's wind break was slightly better. the MSR does have a larger pot holder footprint and a plastic hard case; I prefer the SOTO over the MSR due to efficiency and reliability. I averaged 29-30 minutes of total boil time with the SOTO mounted to a 3.5 oz canister. Total boil time for the MSR was slightly less. Both stoves are nice, but I think that the SOTO is a better stove for those applications where longer fuel efficiency, shorter boil times, and increased wind protection matter most. It is more expensive, but definitely worth it. SOTO, if you are listening: incorporate a larger pot holder and a better carrying case.

by fromAnother great Soto Stove I bought this for my kids for their gear after using mine for years now. It's simple, easy to operate, very lightweight, and the built-in lighter makes starting it up a snap. The pot stand clips on, but has a little hook on it to make it stow down flat. Great little stove.

by fromPricy but good stove Good stove, tried it out this weekend and worked great. Cooked on low temp without burning the food with the optional pan support. Also used the JetBoil cup on top and took the same time to heat water to boiling so am thinking of using this instead of the JetBoil stove to reduce weight. At about double the cost of the similar MSR it is pricy but works very well. Unlike the JetBoil the piezio igniter worked first time.

by fromTerrific light weight backpacking stove Nervous about buying this stove due to lack of REI reviews- however, I am VERY happy with my purchase. Used on a 5 day trek in Wyoming. Very light weight, compact. I have a similar stove but the burner is much better designed on the soto, and less impacted by wind- more efficient heating- we were boiling water in under 3 min-so saved us propane.

by from500ml 2:27 I just bought this yesterday and just tested it. Boiled 500ml in a covered titanium pot. Water started boiling under 2 minutes and was at a rolling boil in 2:27. light weight and has the only fuel regulator for cannister stoves on the market. It is suppose to help with cold conditions and when the fuel level gets low in the canister helping you get every last bit. I chose this stove for the fuel efficiency specs and the weight. I believe it has the best Boil/fuel/weight specs on the market. Making my cookset 6.3oz vs the heavy weight of a jetboil (not including fuel). But it does sound like jetboil is slightly more fuel efficient. I haven't tested it in extreme cold or wind conditions yet. Keep in mind when comparing stoves most stoves used 1L as a boiling time. This stove is suppose to be 4:02. Jetboil says 2:30 for 500ml.
