After testing Montrail shoes for over a month, I must say that they've been relegated to a least favorite pair when I'm about to be ready for an adventure. They are light and quite comfy, however do not appear to be true to size or made a tad too wide. That I noticed affects my confidence.
Another feature that is discouraging is the soles' composite does not provide a solid grab and in any adventure, off-trail hiking or traversing a rocky slab, they telegraph doubt. On the paved or well made trail they do well, otherwise don't feel reliable.
