Rated5out of5bynschnitmanfromAwesome!These are the best five-fingers I own! I love the feel and the fit! They are PERFECT! They are super easy to slip on and I love the "lace" system instead of the velcro strap. SUPER comfortable!

Rated4out of5byrunneraaronfromGood VFF, caused blister for meThis is my 5th pair of VFF. In my opinion the treksport sole that this shoe utilizes has the best blend of protection from stones, flexibility and a small amount of cushion for longer runs. For the first few months I really loved these shoes and was planning on wearing them in an upcoming marathon. Today, however, I took them out on a Half-Marathon time trial and after about 10 miles I started to develop a blister on my foot where one of the straps crosses the arch of the foot. It seems that the cutout strap design causes extra friction at some parts of the foot. I wear socks with my VFF's to reduce blisters on anything longer than 3 miles. I could go with the original Treksport, but those don't have a lacing system and can be a little sloppy on the foot if they don't fit exactly. I am waiting for a VFF to come out wtih a shoe that has a little more cushioning to protect from occasional rocks. The thing that I like most about VFF is the wonderful individual toe pockets. They give my wide forefoot plenty of room to move naturally. My feet feel cloistered in other running shoes. I hope that VFF will eventually realize that people need various amounts of cushioning depending on the terrain they travel and the distance they plan to go. My feet are fine for anything under 10 miles in something like the Bikila, but around 15 miles the bottom of my feet start to hurt and get tired.
These sandals are performance footwear that may work for you. In my case I've never had a blister while wearing any of my other VFF's and can't see myself using these for longer distances.

Rated4out of5byTrailHazardfromFavorite VFF yet! This is the 4th pair of VFF that I own and after just a few weeks they are one of my favorites. These were bought primarily to replace a worn out pair of KSO's for casual/everyday warm weather wear. I wold have replaced the KSO's but I don't care for the current color offerings so I opted for something different and am glad I did. These VFF's are excellent! They have the proven Teeksport sole which is great for casual wear all the way up to moderately rocky hiking and trail running. It's not as thin or sensitive as the KSP sole but still gives you plenty of that comfy barefoot feel that you want. The upper is well made of a tough water-resistant material and these have remained very comfy even in wet weather. The best part in my opinion is the open-air sandal style upper, these breathe better than any other pair of VFF that I have ever worn (KSO, Treksport, Bikila LS).
Enough about the good, here is what these are not. First, they are not a true sandal. If you are looking for something to wear at the beach, forget it. The open upper is great for ventilation but with the closed toes anything that gets inside will stay there and can get uncomfortable in a hurry. Because of that I am not a fan of these for any dirty type of activity such as hiking or beach walking. They are great for me as a casual/everyday shoe but not the best choice if you are looking for a good outdoor sport shoe. My other complaint is the sizing. I wear a size 44 in all other VFF styles (some tighter than others). I originally ordered these in a 44 and they were super tight! I upsized to a 45 and they are perfect.

Rated5out of5bySoRo JoshfromGreat so farThis is my second pair of fivefingers. First are KSO's that I have had for 3 years now and still are in good shape. Not sure if these will hold up as long, but if they do they will remain a five star product. They feel really comfortable and fit to the foot much better with the laces than the strap on KSO's. My one foot is slightly smaller than the other and that causes some annoyance, but not the shoes fault. Overall highly happy and would recommend.

Rated2out of5byOutdoorNewbie23fromTight for MenI was so excited that there was a new VFF that was a sandal! I could not wait to order these. Well I finally received them and to my disappointment I couldn't even get my foot in them. I am a woman with wider feet and men's shoes usually fit better. My VFF Classics are perfect. But these are very narrow, especially in the area from the ball of your foot to the top of your foot (measuring thickness I guess).
Also, they came with shoe laces attached to the outside. But the quick pull system cannot be removed. If you choose to use the laces, do you have to cut the cord on the quick lace system or wait for it to break? I was confused and could not find any instructions on REI's site or anywhere on the web.
I still have my classics, but I sure do wish I could have another pair of VFF that were a little different and have a thicker sole. =(
