Comments about Keen Newport H2 Sandals - Men's:
I have a pair of Keen Sandles I bought almost 8 years ago and they are in better shape than the ones I bought last year. I thought that I might off just purchased a bad pair, however I had also bought a pair for my retired father and his were in the same shape. Since then I've noticed that the glue holding the layers of the sole are sepparate. Go to a used gear sale and you will see plenty with this problem. It really is to bad this was a good product.

Purchased these shoes about almost 5 years ago for a family trip to the Czech Republic. Needed an 11 even though I wear a 10 in dress shoes and a 10.5 in sports shoes. They run small. Wore them every day all day for two weeks in Europe and had absolutely no problems despite the fact I didn't have time to break them in. So, no break in seems to be required. Since that trip I've worn them all summer long for each of the past four summers. They've remained comfortable all that time and the soles have worn pretty well. Mine don't smell. Best sandals I ever owned and I can recommend with no reservation. Only negative I have to say is that they're lousy at the beach because sand gets in but can't fall out the front because of the toe cap. However, the toe cap makes them better for just about everything else. I'd buy another pair but I'm going to try Chaco's for a little more arch support.

I have worn Keen sandals (Arroyo) for many years as well as other Keen products...hiking boots. They fit great and are very, very comfortable. My Newports are very comfortable, but really smell bad. I thought that it was me, but my friend also said that his really stunk...hey it's not just me. Purchased these in Apr/2012...maybe just a bad batch?? Really unwearable at this point and will return.

Comments about Keen Newport H2 Sandals - Men's:
These shoes are very comfortable to wear and quite durable. My only complaint would be in the hard material used for the opposite side of the shoe sole (the part your foot rests on). It does not breathe in the slightest and after 1 hour of wear a thin layer of sweat builds up between my feet and the shoe.
I have bad natural arches and it is hard to find shoes with good arch support that doesn't collapse after 6 months of wear. These shoes pass this test.

I have been through a few pair of these over the years. They are one of my all-time favorite shoes for the hot AZ weather. They easily last several years of hiking/walking (I also have a pair with clips for casual Mt biking) and even as a summer time outside work shoe. You will love these from day one, until the sad day years and years later when they are completely worn out. But that is a perfect excuse to head on down to your favorite REI and buy a new pair! The only issue is with small rocks that easily get into the shoe from the sides, but that is pretty minor really. Once you get used to the large looking toe area you will love them. Cheers - CJ

I bought a pair of these sandals in August 2009 and wore them for over three years. The soles of all my shoes tend to wear out more on the outside of the heel because of the way I walk. This is the only reason why I am retiring these fantastic sandals in April 2013. Yes...43 months later.
I wore them mainly in North Florida 9 months out of the year. I did not wear them to work but I wore them if I was going anywhere other than to the office. I walk my dog every day, walked all over town on grass and pavement, walked all over Stephen Foster State Park, waded through the Suwanee several times each year, walked on wet rocks, wet sand, dry sand, all without any trouble. They are good enough to wear with jeans to a causal dinner or with shorts on a hike. They even made great cycling shoes. I used them to ride my bike from Jacksonville, FL to Gainesville, FL. and every other trip around Jacksonville.
The only problem is that they take a time to dry when wet, which is normal considering all the material on the uppers. The closed toe is very handy when hiking.
I am going to try Teva Taochi 2 water sandals next to see if they dry any faster. I do a lot of walking in the rain and I need sandals that can dry quickly. Other than that, I highly recommend the Newport H2 to anyone and everyone. Other than the outer edges of the sole, nothing else has any significant wear. I won't be throwing the Newports away. I plan to keep them handy as spare sandals.

Comments about Keen Newport H2 Sandals - Men's:
Stitching around elastic heel section came completely loose on both sandals first day of wading creeks in Utah slick rock area. Had to make a field repair to keep going. Emailed Keen with pictures expressing concerns, they finally responded to my second email stating they would consider a refund when I had stated in the email I already had a refund. They did not respond to investigating the defective stitching. I have seen the same defective stitching on the same sandal at various stores. I don't think their concern or market really includes rugged environments. I would recommend avoiding this product unless application is very light duty.

I bought my Newports in 2008 and they are still going strong. These are ideal for white water, especially rafting. They are very comfortable and easy to get on and off. I don't really like to hike in them because debris gets into them fairly easily and is hard to get out. The other con is that after wearing them for long periods of time your feet get sweating and an unpleasant odor develops. Otherwise these are great, long lasting sandals with many uses.

I have a pair of keen sandals that I bought in 2006 and they are just starting to wear out now (hence the reason for the new ones!). Keen has by far been the best sandal I've ever had. They are comfortable, take a long time to wear out (I wear them every day) and the durability is unparalleled. I use them for walking, around the house and sometimes hiking.
