Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Daypack ever I love this pack. Definitely one of the better purchases I've made. I went with the 18 because I have a smaller frame. 5'4" 125 pounds. Felt like the 26 or higher would have been a little bulky. However, I almost wish I would have bought the slightly larger pack for the extra 20 bucks because it would make a great roomy overnight backcountry pack. That being said, I am able to fit quite a bit of stuff in the 18. Highly adjustable. I can easily fit snacks, random extras, a heavier jacket, a lighter jacket, and the hydration bladder. I have even strapped my sleeping bag (maramot cloudbreak) and my sleeping pad (women's pro-lite therm) to the bottom with extra straps and it still fits and holds fine to take on a less strenuous overnight. The hydration system is the best I've used. Bite valve gets awesome flow and the magnetic clip is an absolutly awesome addition. It also fits awesome. Have taken it on miltiple 8+ mile hikes. kept the weight off my shoulders and the back design keeps you extra Cool. Can't beat the all mighty guarantee either. They really do stand by that they will replace or fix anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So great for long hikes This bag was so great on a rim to rim Grand Canyon hike. I was worried about my bag hurting my back during the 26 mile trek but it was like I wore nothing at all... and my bag was packed full. In addition, the bladder holds 3L of water which meant I could carry more water than my hiking companions, very helpful in the heat of the canyon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Small Day Pack I debated for the longest time on what day pack to get, way too long. This was my first pick months before and ended up being my final choice. The Mira 18 is a small pack, perfect for day hikes. I recently took it out to the ADKs on Blueberry Mtn. Steep, exhausting, but worth it. I stuffed food, snacks, knife, sunglasses, dog treats and a collapsible dog bowl in, as well as a vest (was not needed) and my bulky Nikon D50. Had plenty of room with the resevoir filled. Now, I am getting a new camera, so packing for the next hike with a mirrorless/compact system will be way nicer. I would use this mountain biking or even as a carry-on for a plane if I'm going light. Nice day pack, sometimes when I look at it, I feel I want the next size up, but then I think about all the extra stuff I'd end up having with me. Our first hike was only about 4 hours and the water was plenty and my other half had his daypack with food, water, first aid, etc. I would be comfortable taking this on full-day hikes and think it will do well. Fit is good...probably sits a bit high on my hips for 5' 7" (I assume would fit a shorter person really well), but good adjustments and the Osprey Warranty makes me feel good about such an expensive investment. Two gripes - I wish, wish, wish that there was a cap on the water valve to keep debris out and that Osprey enclosed the resevoir hose in the pack strap like their Raven line, but I'm sure they had their reasons. All in all, great. If you like the extra space and options (side water bottle pockets) go for the next size up, but if your aim is minimal this might be for you. I got green and I love it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great, but a few things could be better Things I love about this pack: I'm 5'3", and this was one of the only packs I found that actually fit me. I really debated between this one in the 18 size and the sirrus 24. I chose this one because of the smaller capacity. If I had gotten the Sirrus, the size small is what fit me best. Besides fit, it is really comfortable. I did 2 back to back day hikes that were 10+ miles in glacier last week and my back didn't bother me at all. Things I don't love: I wish the pack had side pockets for extra water bottles, and you have to fiddle with the hydration hose a bit to get it to stay in the magnetic holder. But worst of all, and I consider this to be a big design flaw... The stow on the go loops for poles could not have been designed by someone who actually hikes with poles. The upper loop on the shoulder strap rubs against the inside of your upper arm and makes a big red sore. The motion of walking with poles makes this worse. I was fine in long sleves, but when you peel off layers and are in short sleeves or sleeveless, it really gets annoying. About halfway up to grinnell glacier I had to pull out my knife and cut off that upper loop. Then I had to wrap duct tape around the strap. Later that same day i ran into a girl who had my same pack. She was not hiking wuth poles, but she had the same red spot rubbed inside her upper arm. if osprey could add some side pockets and get rid of the ridiculous stow on the go business, this might be the perfect day pack.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great pack, bad hydration bladder Got this for my wife for our trip to hike Pikes Peak. There is plenty of room in the pack for the necessary rain gear and snacks while still being compact enough to run in. However, the new Osprey hydration bladder is not as good as their old system. We have been unable to fully seal the bladders lid resulting in an unusable hydration pack at this time. The plastic strap that connects the lid to the bladder prevents the lid from tightening. If you cut the strap it would probably tighten fine but then you have a loose lid to keep track of. We plan to take the bladder portion in to REI to swap this out. The pack portion is great. Only complaint is the bladder.
