    New Balance WT10v2 Minimus Trail-Running Shoes - Women's is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Minimal sole, maximum comfort and style I'm a huge fan of Vibram Five Fingers, but encountered some brief disappointment when it was new shoe time and my local REI did not have my size. Being too impatient for them to order and ship my size, I looked at more conventional options. The REI associate was super-helpful (of course!) and patiently listened as I explained I LOVED my Five Fingers because my pinkie toes stick out a little and get smushed/uncomfortable after a few hours in most shoes. "Wide width" shoes are often too wide, as it's just my toes that need a little more space. His recommendation of these Vibram-soled New Balance shoes was spot on, and my earlier disappointment was completely forgotten. The heel and mid-foot area is fitted, while the toes have more space for wiggling and balance. The soles are thinner than most but not as thin/flexible as my Five Fingers, but that might make them a great stepping stone if you're trying to move toward barefoot running or whatever. (I'm not a runner, but that seems to be a thing.) These are compact and lightweight, making them great for biking and travel. The mesh dries quickly if you get them wet, and they'd be solid river/water shoes in a pinch. The tongue is attached pretty high up, so even if they are fully unlaced I can walk in them without stepping out of them - another pro for using them as river shoes, since this would make it harder for pebbles/sand to get in. Actually lacing them up lets you get the arch and heel as snug as you want. I adore the orange and purple color scheme, and even replaced the grey laces with purple ones that look right at home. Another plus for biking is that the orange New Balance "N" on the outside of the shoe is reflective. I've had them about two months now and there are no signs of wear. I've was a little nervous* the first time I put them in the washing machine after a particularly dusty camping trip, but they came out looking good as new - even better, they dried out pretty much overnight! (*my Five Fingers explicitly say to machine wash and air dry, but these come with no such washing instructions) Great shoe!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! Love it for running and gym days! Used these trail running and my feet got kind of dirty- but loved the grip! Extremely sad I left these in another country a few weeks later and they are just a bit tooo pricey to buy again:(

Rated 4 out of 5 by from five finger to minimus I'm used to the minimalist style shoe, starting out with the vibram five fingers. I really like these because they look like 'normal' shoes. Since Vibram makes the soles on these they feel very similar to the five fingers. The bottoms do wear out kind of quickly. I've only ran in these a little on the road and I can already see the wear on them. I also have friends who have these and in wet weather they slip and slide around. I mainly use these for working out and running. I only give them a 4 because I had to return my first pair because the stitching was coming out of the toe area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love this shoe. Fabulously comfortable I walk daily on trails or streets, averaging ten miles most days. I also use these shoes at the gym. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had, and I'm sad to take them off. HOWEVER... The right edge of the sole on my right shoe has begun to pull away from the shoe, and both shoes already show a lot of wear on the soles. I'm going to take them in to REI and ask what they think. I love the shoe, but I'm not sure it's going to hold up to hard wear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoe Great shoe, very comfortable. Just started crossfit and this shoe helps me stay stable while lifting weights and doing squats and all that business. Still good for running. I've tried the vibram five fingers which I can't get used to but these are a great minimal shoe alternative to those. I have only had them for about a month so i cant tell yet as to if they will last for a long time but i hope so!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best running shoe ever This was my first pair of minimalist shoes, and I couldn't be happier. I had to return the first pair I bought due to a nub of fabric that bruised my foot (even after 30 miles they never wore in). The second pair fits like a glove. I know that you are supposed to slowly ease into minimalist running, but these were so comfortable that I ran 4 miles my first time wearing them. I think for someone who is new to this type of running like myself, a 4mm drop is ideal. Maybe my next shoe will have a 0mm drop but these are so comfortable who knows. I have poor circulation in my legs and almost every running shoe I've ever worn has made my feet go numb on long runs over ~4 miles. These are comfortable the whole way. And they breathe nicely. One thing I did notice is that the outer sole is already showing signs of wear and my new shoes only have about 20 miles on them (about half of that is trail). I hope that this is just the initial new shoe shine that's wearing off, and it doesn't continue to wear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So comfortable! I normally wear a size 8, but the 8 was too short and too narrow. I went up a half size, and couldn't be happier. They are very comfortable. I can wear them all day without socks, and not have tired feet. I love that they are so lightweight- perfect for wearing as well as packing. I bought them for walking, and recreational use since i'm not a runner. I've received many compliments on their good looks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad! I bought these to replace my New Balance WR20s, which had a ventilation hole in the sole at the heel. The insole ended up collapsing inside of it and really messed up the bottom of my foot for a few days. THESE do NOT have that ventilation gap and have fared much better (so far!). I can tell the cushioning is a bit different with this "trail style" shoe--just enough ruggedness to handle gravel shoulders and dirt paths. It's very decent and I definitely recommend it for folks that want a more natural feel during their walk/runs.
