While hunting in all conditions, my scopes might fog up glasses even will do I have to use either to see down rang ? Not anymore from the climbing stand to the ground blind our latter stand or just my back porch I can stop and check out any movement with this pair of Nikon' monarch 7 10×42 6.7°..all my older pair were passed down or put up there no longer needed for anything that I do practicing at the gun range getting my new scopes in sight and taking whitetails, coyotes, hogs, turkeys and more even fishing this year was amazingly viewed .. I was wondering if the spot in the middle front was a place to mount night vision or what other attachments?
I used to use a high-end glass, but decided I didn't want to travel out of the country with something so expensive. This blew me away. The contrast alone was awesome (especially in the jungle). I use these for birding and can't say enough good things. The bino is super comfortable to hold and I can use it in the rain which definitely helps in the Pacific NW. Hope you all experience the same.
I upgraded for bird watching and find myself giggling at this great find! Every time time I use it I’m in awe. Spying a red tailed hawk nest Very high in the tree I could see distinct features, crisp feathers. Definitely worth the price.
It's pretty well accepted in the birding world that the Nikon Monarch 7 10x42 are a great pair of binoculars for the price. My one complaint about these is that the focus wheel is sooo slow to spin. Some birds only give you a second or two to ID them between landing and taking off again, so When you have a 0.5 - 2.0 seconds to get the bird in your lens while simultaneously focusing in on it and identifying before it's gone and it takes 2 seconds alone to spin from near to far focus or vice versa, you may have just missed a bird. Other than that, these are very solid binoculars, lightweight. Would recommend.
ED glass helps keep the image clearer in lower light. It also helps when there is too much light fro reflections - like water. I liked them so much that a friend of mine also upgraded and is pleased as well. I think for the price they are certainly worth it if you are not planning on spending a grand. Very pleased.( The eye cup cover will not stay on, so I just keep it in the case and put it on when I am through for the day. It is NOT attached to my strap) They are also a little heavier than my previous Nikon pair, but I think it is the rubber coating.
Super clear and very impressive. If u want quality, Nikon will always deliver.
nice image, good field of view, good feel - don't have enough experience to rate higher. Worst aspect is the eye piece cover is loose and falls off easily
I am very impressed with these binocs - they have excellent clarity and stunning brightness. Their compact size and just-right textured barrels make them especially comfortable and user friendly. I wish I had upgraded to these much sooner.
Last minute purchase (forgot my Monarch 7 8x42s at home), excellent choice. Good value for money. 10s are harder to manage than 8s, especially looking for birds in the sky, but overall clarity and optics are very good.
Wow! Finally quality binoculars at a reasonable price! I found these with the help of a wonderful staff member at the REI in Encintas. She was incredibly informative and I am enterally grateful for her advise!
