    I got these on sale at the end of the 2012 winter season in the hopes they would provide better warmth in the cold, protection from the wet and to help save my regular race shoes.
    I ride on the road down to around 25 degrees and I found these didn't quite keep my feet as warm as my standard road shoe with warm sock and neoprene cover arrangement. Though they are advertised as insulated soles, I'm dubious. I do have my own custom orthotics so perhaps removing the supplied liner made a big difference, but really they didn't seem all that insulated.
    They do provide much better warmth in the wet since all the openings are pretty secure.
    Two main annoyances:
    I used the three mounting holes for some Zero cleats and didn't use the SPD mounts. If you do the same, be sure to stick some gum or cotton or something in the SPD plates or they will rattle and slide back and forth with every rotation. You can't take them out from the inside either because the lining doesn't have any perforations. This is to keep moisture out.
    Annoyance two: they are difficult to get into requiring that you roll the booty down, grab the pull strap on the heel with one hand and flare the thin tongue with the other. Feels like a juggling act, and it feels like the heel pull is going to give way pretty soon.
    All in all, they are OK and I'm more or less happy with them. Get them on sale!
