"Hayasa" means speed! The ultralight, race-ready Single-Track Hayasa trail-running shoes from The North Face were designed in collaboration with Japanese ultra runner Tsuyoshi Kaburaki.
- Lightweight polyester mesh uppers are highly breathable and resist abrasion; thermoplastic urethane overlays provide support and protection
- Tongue scree collars help keep pesky trail debris out
- Polyester linings wick moisture away from your feet, reducing susceptibility to blisters
- CRADLE™ technology naturally absorbs impact, stabilizes foot and encourages an anatomically correct stride
- Removable multidensity foam footbeds offer cushioning; perforations improve breathability and water drainage
- 10mm heel-to-toe drop offers a low-profile design with ample shock absorption in key areas
- Cushioning, dual-density EVA midsoles provide cushioning and lightweight, neutral support
- Thermoplastic urethane plates in forefeet provide side-to-side stability and protection against stone bruising
- Sticky rubber outsoles on The North Face Single-Track Hayasa shoes provide excellent traction for off-road pursuits

I use this shoe for trail running but also for triathlons! It is lightweight and still feels great even when it's soaking wet.
The tongue is sewn in so I often go sockless (especially for tri's).
Not a ton of cushion--can definitely feel rocks through the sole but it's not so thin that it will be punctured. That's the trade-off for a virtually weightless, fast shoe!
