this is my first salomon purchase, very impressed, may want to double check size before ordering online--previously I have used new balance, saucony, addidas, ascics, in these shoes i wear up to a 9 or 9 1/2, had to go down to an 8 or 8 1/2 in salomon.

Great brand for people with narrow feet like me. I think the rating quality has a lot to do with the fit which is very individual. For me, these fit great in the width and I need to purchase a half size larger. I use these for light trail running, and for hunting dog training (yard work and road work) which requires running, jogging, walking and making quick movements on varied terrain. The tread has excellent grip and the support throughout is solid. They also look sharp for casual wear although I mainly restrict their use to training. So far, I have not found excessive wear. This is my second pair of Salomons, I cannot remember how old the last pair are but...it has been a while.

I absolutely LOVE these shoes. They fit like a glove and the toe area is wider so your toes don't get cramped. Toe cap is awesome and helps the shoes stay looking really great. The fabric these are made of breathes amazingly well so I never had a problem with sweaty feet. I got these on a recommendation from the REI staff for plantar fasciitis that has plagued me for awhile. I have med/high arches and at first the insole worked well, but within 4 months it had broken down considerably. So I would recommend replacing their insole with an aftermarket one. The tread also wears SUPER QUICK if you use it AT ALL on concrete-so this is NOT a duel purpose shoe. I ended up taking them back for a shoe that is more duel purpose-but I DID LOVE THESE! They also are super stable. I supinate and this shoe did not show the usual outside tread wear that other have. Overall, I love this very specialized great looking shoe and will buy again, but just use them for the trails.

Very comfortable, durable, great traction and lightweight shoe which I used for hiking on varied types of trails. Love the type of laces that don't require tying. Shoes didn't require a 'breaking in' period. THey were extremely comfortable immediately.

I bought these just before doing many day hikes, about 41 miles in a week. The boots were fabulous. They fit without blisters or irritations right off the bat. They stopped the toes from hitting the front of the boot - laces system works great. I am totally happy with these boots - can't say enough good things about them. Thank you.

Extremely comfortable and light weight shoe. Well cushoined sole provides extra comfort. Wore them all day in weather that was over 100 degrees and my feet felt great! Highly recommend them. Please note that I ordered a half size down.
