        I hadn't done a ton of trail running before moving out to Colorado so I was picky about finding shoes that would be comfortable and durable for hiking and running. Our area is chock full of trails so it's definitely the most appealing route to take for running. I've had these for like 8 months and they're still holding up great- through hiking, trail running, every day use. I've run a 5K and 10K and train in these shoes. They're awesome. I also have really flat feet and even though they're so lightweight they must have great arch support somehow because I've never had an discomfort. The shoes hold up really well and aren't showing signs of real wear, but I know for sure I'll get another pair when they do eventually need to be replaced.

            I usually run in Vibram FiveFingers, as my stride in those shoes doesn't lead to hip or back pain, like regular running shoes. I've run a LOT in the Vibrams, but for winter trail running in Chicago, I needed something warmer, and with traction. These shoes are nearly perfect. Because they have more cushion than my Vibrams, I have to adjust my stride a bit to prevent my hip from tightening up, but these shoes have the BEST GRIP, i've run on ice, snow, no problem. Enjoy!!

              Proprioception is what Vivobarefoot shoes are all about - you feel the ground and your foot flexes as you move - as it was meant to ! - it is so wonderful to experience these shoes that you'll not want to wear anything else !( and they do make styles for work, etc) Breatho Trail has a sole with traction built in, so I don't slip on an incline, rocky or wet trail, yet still feel the ground. These shoes give me the best barefoot experience yet - they are a joy to move in. They are durable, and they protect my feet completely (they helped me get to the other side of plantar fasciitis, by allowing my foot full flexibility as I move). I am no spring chicken, but these shoes make me feel like a ninja !

                I run an average of 40-50 miles a week, nearly all on trail. I've been transitioning to minimalist footwear and these did not dissapoint. These are super light weight with a very minimal and barefoot feel given the superior traction for uneven and rocky terrain. I've even used these to run/hike four 14ers this summer and they've held up remarkably well (owned for 4 months now)- these shoes are much more well made than others out there that wear out way too soon. I also love the WIDE toebox that allows natural foot splay and accomodates swelling and my bunions. I also have never used the paper-thin insoles, took them out as soon as I purchased these and never wear socks- very comfortable!
