The 686 Times NB Boa Focus snowboard boots are based on the original MT580 trail running sneakers from New Balance. Their design has been simplified and includes new lightweight, durable textiles.

Comments about 686 Times NB Boa Focus snowboard boots - 2012/2013:

The two most important factors to me in choosing a boot are how comfortable they are and how much confidence they inspire when I am riding. Seeing as my last pair of boots sometimes made me feel as though I was going to fall out on toeside turns, these New Balance boots were a revelation. Despite sizing tending toward a half size over, once I found the right size, they fit like foot gloves. The inner boot lining uses a drawstring to tighten and the outer boot uses the two-knob speed dial system or whatever it's called. This combination puts on fast and I'll never go back to laces.

Once I'm in, I can bomb down straightaways or make breakneck turns without the unsettling feeling that my foot is going to fly out of the boot. I tried on close to a dozen pairs before picking this one. None of them quite got it the way these do. I never even realized that New Balance made boots but I'm glad they do.
