I bought this rack over a hitch mount install, because I figured i would want to carry more than my bike. I can safely say the claim that the Whispbar is virtually silent is not an exaggeration. I can barely notice it is there. By comparison my brother used a square bar type rack with a fairing, and I knew it was there. There are some exceptions, like when it is a particularly windy day, but even on the highway I am impressed and pleased by the rack's performance.

I have since added a bike attachment to this rack, and am satisfied my bike is not going anywhere but with me. Installing it was a bit tricky but once the grab arms were properly positioned, it was easy! The only reason I gave this 4 stars is there is always room for improvement and innovation.

Great design and very sleek look. Looks amazing on my 2011 Acura MDX. My only complaint is the noise I hear... A slight whistling sound. With the radio on, you don't hear it too bad. Overall, very good rack to use on a vehicle with a naked roof.

Had to have these after my Yakima Rep showed me his Whispars. Cannot even hear them. A co-worker also got them, and installed them backwards, they made a horribly loud noise then. My Rep says it happens alot. If you want a more factory look, and don't need the fairing for your sticker collection, these bars are the way to go.
