Comments about Burton AK 2L Cyclic Shell Jacket - Men's:
I purchased the coat site-unseen because of the tech (Gore Tex is a must in the PNW) and color (I needed a bright color to combine with my bright helmet so my family would be able to find me easily on the slopes). I purchased this jacket for the 2012/13 season but was sidelined by a car wreck, so 2013/14 is my first full season with the jacket. After a dozen days up I'm disappointed in the jacket based on a number of annoyances which I'll list below. I'm giving this jacket 3 stars because a jacket at this price should be nearly perfect. If I paid way less money I'd probably rethink my rating.
* the front zipper always gets caught at the top on the micro fleece chin flap. Always. * i prefer under the cuff gloves. The cuffs always ride up my arm during a run, no matter how tight I try to secure them with the velcro cuff straps. They also ride up when I strap in at the top of the lift, so prepping them on the chair is useless. * The inside goggle pocket is deep (its from mid-chest down to the bottom of the coat. This is OK, but another shallower inside pocket on the right side would be nice. * If you wear a helmet I'd recommend finding a different coat. The hood is not helmet compatible (how come nearly all manufacturers don't design their hoods for helmets?). The hood is part of the coat construction and not separated, so it's nearly impossible to get the collar over your chin without putting the hood on.
The jacket does keep me dry and comfortable, but I'm sure other jackets with similar tech and better features would do the same.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
