Comments about Timbuk2 Commute Messenger Bag - Large:

Bought this as a replacement for my older NorthFace backpack that I used to carry things to and from work. I have a few friends who recommended Timbuk2 bags and I'm definitely not disappointed.

I have a large laptop that I have to lug around for work and it fits very well in the Large bag. The bag has plenty of storage space for everything from computer chargers to iPads and Kindles. And there's still tons of room for other stuff.

The feature I like the best, though, is the clever quick release to change the way the bag rides while you're wearing it. It's perfect for fast adjustment and fine-tuning comfort which is pretty important because as you fill the bag more, it will probably need to get adjusted.

Bottom line, I'd recommend this bag to anyone. In fact, my wife liked the bag so much that we bought one for her to take to work, too.

I have the 2011 bag and now the latest version due to a larger laptop purchase. Timbuk2 makes great bags. The enhancements to the 2011 bag are welcomed with one exception. The handle on this bag is too small. Especially for the large version where you have an expectation of carry a reasonable amount of weight. Put the 2011 bag handle on this and you have another great bag. If you travel often the TSA approved feature is great. It's really nice not to have to remove your notebook when going through security. While I live in nice dry AZ this bag does have some good anti-rain features to keep all of your stuff dry.

Timbuks2 customer service is great. So if you ever have an issue with a bag they will take care of you.

One other small ding is that if you have some type of rubberized case on your tablet it is hard to insert into the dedicated sleeve. The red fabric lining likes to grip it. Adding a Napoleon pocket to the bag is very helpful as well.

My bag takes a beating on the road and has held up well. If this style is not for you I recommend getting anything Timbuk2 makes.
