The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Maui Jim Banyans Polarized Sunglasses:
I purchased these sunglasses 30 days ago on June 27, 2012, and have worn them every time (on about 20 or more days) that I have been outdoors during daylight hours here in San Francisco unless the weather was foggy or the sky had a heavy overcast except on some occasions I have worn them to protect my eyes from blowing sand even if the sky had a heavy overcast.
1. Use - I wear these sunglasses to protect my eyes from wind, sand, UV, and glare at the beach, near the water's edge, and around town.
2. Pros - These sunglasses are lightweight. The quality of constructions appears to be very good to excellent. My glasses have the imprint "Made in Japan", which is one of the primary reasons why I purchased them. They appear to be durable, are easy to clean with the included soft non-scratch microfiber storage pouch, feel good, and stay in place on perspiring skin while hiking, jogging, and running. The sunglasses do not slide or slip down my nose when I am wearing them even during heightened periods of physical activity and perspiration. The nose pads hold the sunglasses in place and feel comfortable. The lens material has not accumulated any surface scratches even though I have wiped them clean many times with the included soft pouch.
3. Cons - I am dissatisfied with the polarization of these sunglasses because I find myself squinting from glare, especially when looking westward over the Pacific in the afternoon when glare is approaching or is at maximum intensity. After wearing the sunglasses for 10-20 minutes, the nose pads leave dark impressions in the skin. After a period, the skin impressions disappeared after removing the sunglasses. The lateral support that connects the two lenses at the top of the nose bridge area creates a conspicuous and distracting blind spot in the field of view of each lens. The overall design of the sunglasses is attractive except the lateral support that connects each lens disrupts the aesthetic harmony of the otherwise pleasing appearance of the sunglasses.
4) I will return these sunglasses for a refund and will endeavor to find another model of Maui Jim "Made in Japan" sunglasses that do not cause me to squint from glare, will not have blind spots in the field of view of each lens, and will not leave conspicuous nose-pad skin impressions.
