Comments about Blackburn Folsom U-Lock:
This is not a 14mm shackle. It is 14mm including the rubber coating. Since it is hexagonal I can measure 2 ways: min=10mm, max=12mm. I personally wouldn't take this on a multi-city bike tour where loosing the bike would ruin the trip even though weight (or lack thereof) is crucial on such a trip. I will stick to my 18mm shackle 2.5kg Magnum lock. You just can't get by with less weight (except by shortening the shackle, but that would still be about 2kg).
The question really comes down to whether it can be cut with bolt cutters, and if not, how long does it take to saw off without power tools. My choice would be 13mm mini ulock for around town, or 18mm for leaving the bike for an extended period.
