    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Green Guru Dutchy Recycled Banner Single Pannier is rated 4.1429 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from not the right specs The dimensions listed on REI's website are 17x12x7, which calculates out to 1428 cubic inches. The item actually measures more like 12.25x11x7.25. Interestingly, the manufacturer's website lists the dimensions as 13x12x7, and the volume at 1092 cubic inches. Oddly enough, the manufacturer's tag on the bag lists it as 17x12x7!! The construction of the bag seems great, on par with a Timbuk2 bag. There are a couple of light plastic boards on the inside wall and bottom to give it shape.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it REI says it's not waterproof but I think as long as you don't submerge it it'll keep your stuff dry. It certainly handles any rainstorm. The billboard material may be durable but the paint isn't. Mine started chipping away immediately. I would prefer a fastening system like Novara uses to attach the bag to the bike. It would be more secure. The bag rides low enough to make the platform on your rack usable. Mount the bag as far back as possible or it'll bang your heel. There's a strap and hook on the bike side of the bag; I've no idea of its intended purpose. I don't see how one could secure the bag to the bike with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Bags Here's a review for the materials-conscious and/or eco-minded consumer (awful buzzword, sorry) I was really torn over what bags to get for my bike camping trips. I knew I wanted something domestically produced, but I was leery of buying something "recycled" since that wouldn't change the ultimately harmful nature of what these things are made from. I was originally trying to buy a bag that was designed for low eco- impact from birth-to-death (waxed canvas, v.t. leather etc.) But not finding a bag that met my lofty standards, I settled for a "less-bad" compromise and bought a pair of these. I determined that since these were going into the garbage BEFORE they were made, I could at least avoid the embodied energy that would go into creating raw materials and producing a NEW product. After much anxiety I feel like I made a solid choice, especially once they arrived on my doorstep. Solid construction, stiff-bottomed, with a good memory for folding-up flat. side tabs to to help keep out water. They say they aren't water PROOF, but I cannot see water penetrating through the membrane itself. The closures aren't double-fold-overs so some water might creep in if it's really pouring, but if packed properly I don't see it being an issue. Only complaint is that the first image makes the bag look much longer than it is, and the specs list a 17" width, but these are def. more square. 17" would probably be awkwardly long for most racks and pedal-motion anyways. tl;dr : get 'em

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Farmers Mkt and Local Errands I like it. Easy to use and fits a lot of stuff from around town. A bit bulky - a by product of its material, recycled billboards not a 'high' tech material. It has a shoulder strap - nice feature. Would recommend for low key, local use, otherwise, ckeck its weight first. Each design is 'different' since you don't know what billboard it came from.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for commuting I have been commuting daily with this and it has worked great. I found that it is more secure on my rack if I cinch the mounting strap each time I mount it. This is a bit of a pain, but I almost lost the pannier when I was pedaling hard and lifted it off my rack with my heel. Also, it is comfortable to carry around a store or farmers market since the 2 clasps are small and don't jab you too much in your side/back. Thin but comfortable (and highly adjustable) carrying strap. Nice to have a pannier that's a bit different from most you see on the road.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First pannier, love it This is the first pannier I've ever purchased and I love it. I'd like to get one for the other side of my rack now! Favorite features are that it's roomy, sturdy, comes with a carrying strap, and folds down when not in use. I also like that it's made from recycled materials and made in the US.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great buy now I have 2 This pannier meets exactly what I wanted. - good size to carry clothes and other stuff - the material looks very sturdy and it is - easy to put on the bike and to take off - the shoulder bag is a plus, but the bag feels a little bulky when you use it like that, I wouldn't recommend use it as a messenger bag type. - If you buy 2 like I did don't expect them to match in color.
