Comments about Chariot Carriers Cougar 2 Stroller / Trailer Chassis - 2012:
I love this. I researched these forever before buying and finally decided on this. I would recommend this to anyone with a question about getting one. It's pricier than some others out there...but it is better. You get what you pay for. Love how ultralight it feels.

Comments about Chariot Carriers Cougar 2 Stroller / Trailer Chassis - 2012:
This is a good product. we purchased it right before we went camping in yosemite. It worked great! Our daughter is 4 months old and we bought the sling with it. we were able to fit my daughter and my neice in it very comforatbly. The sunshade works really well for both kids. The back compartment is perfect for a diaper bag. We bought this one over other bike trailers mainly because of the support it gives for the kids sitting down. we had another that after 20 min our neice would be sloutching. this one she was able to sit up the whole time! the only time she complained was when we took off the 3 point harness and she complained of the buckles that were still connected to the trailer. all in all i would recommend to a friend.

Comments about Chariot Carriers Cougar 2 Stroller / Trailer Chassis - 2012:
I pull my twin 16 month old girls with this behind my bike and we all have a great time. My only complaint is that the quick connect to the rear axle is a tight fit, so I have to loosen the wheel a few turns before the pin will slide into place.
There isn't as much elbow room in here as other side-by-sides provide, but it is sufficient for my girls at this age.

Comments about Chariot Carriers Cougar 2 Stroller / Trailer Chassis - 2012:
Pros: We have the 2005 Couger 2 model. It has been used for 6 kids and is still going strong. We love the Xcountry ski attachment. It is extremely durable. The kids often fall asleep because of the smooth ride. If a toddler's bike breaks down the Chariot handles the added weight just fine.
Cons: My long stride catches the storage bag--It looks like the new models corrected that issue.

Comments about Chariot Carriers Cougar 2 Stroller / Trailer Chassis - 2012:
The Cougar 2 is the best there is out there! We chose it for its sturdy frame, much more sturdy than the BOB. It also has a roll cage which is very safe in case of accident. I also love that we can bike into town and then attach the stroller wheels easily! It is also great that I can jog with it! It does everything we need. We even took it to the beach and it rocked in the sand! I would never buy anything else. We will be buying another this year for our 3rd (and maybe 4th in the future ) child.

Comments about Chariot Carriers Cougar 2 Stroller / Trailer Chassis - 2012:
This is a great product for a couple that is looking for a bike trailer and planning for kids in the future. My wife has it attached to her bike as she does not like to drive so she uses it as her bike trailer/market cart with the stroller wheels. We've also taken it on a few light trails(not single track) for about twenty miles with our camping gear loaded to test it out and it has performed just fine. We took the seats out, but the straps that remain are useful to hold gear in place to prevent weight shifts on the trail. I also put tire slime in the tires because I was a little uneasy being out on the trails without a spare tire and I didn't want to go through several patches. No issues there.
So far we've had no issues with the cover popping off even on rutted or rocky trails.

Comments about Chariot Carriers Cougar 2 Stroller / Trailer Chassis - 2012:
We bought the Cougar 2 with multi-use in mind. When going jogging it's more of an assemble/disassemble than collapsing. While not difficult to do, it is tedious. We have not yet had a chance to use it as bicycle trailer.

Comments about Chariot Carriers Cougar 2 Stroller / Trailer Chassis - 2012:
My wife and I bought this product when our daughter was 6mo. We knew that we would have another, so we decided to get the cougar 2 instead of the single to get more use out of the product over time.
I use, the bike, jog, and ski attachments all the time (though generally not in the same week). The conversion kits are very easy to use and change out. Granted I'm not transitioning between them in back-to-back fashion. But it gets us out on the trail more quickly with the ease of set-up.
We also bought the baby supporter and bunting bag for outdoor activity in the spring, fall, and winter.
The one knock is the jogging handle. It seems below spec with the rest of the stroller. wobbly, light weight, small, not ergonomic...thus 4 stars.
Overall, my wife and I are very pleased with our decision to go with a Chariot over a BOB. There versatility and REI sales.coupons is what tipped the scales.
TIP TO REI The resale market on these is pretty good, think about doing trade-in and a certified pre-owned program.

Comments about Chariot Carriers Cougar 2 Stroller / Trailer Chassis - 2012:
For the most part, the carrier functions great! If there were no design flaws and Chariots customers service wasn't lacking, this would be a 5*. However, there are major issues to warrant NOT spending so much money for this item.
1) Front cover: It is held down by plastics hooks on an aluminum bar. These hooks DO NOT HOLD. Several times during a bike ride or jogging the front cover flips open leaving your children open to debris in the cockpit.
We were asked to bring the item to REI to have them order a new cover. It took 3 months for Chariot to send a new one. Guess what ~ it does the same thing. It's a design flaw.
2) Break Peddle / Back Bag: The bag rubs on the peddle (as it is shaped like a hook or the # 7). It rubs and hooks the fabric causing a large hole on the bottom of the bag. When folding the carrier down to store, it hooks the bag again (and yes the bag is folded up).
Chariot called me and said they don't deal w/consumers. I'd have to bring it to a local dealer (as if they'd know how to resolve the issue). Unless these flaws are fixed ~ No we are not impressed (especially for the money).

Comments about Chariot Carriers Cougar 2 Stroller / Trailer Chassis - 2012:
We love our Chariot, but I wanted to be sure to caution people living in warm climates. The ventilation is not great. If it's more than 80 degrees, we have to leave all covers open or the kids overheat very quickly. Since that's nine months out of the year here in Houston, that's a big deal! Basically this means we avoid off-road areas, high traffic areas, and puddles. We would avoid these areas anyway while pulling a trailer, so it's not a fatal flaw. I still recommend the Chariot for it's great versatility and durability, but be safe in the heat!!
