Rated 4 out of 5 by from All hail the Firehole My wife thought I was crazy for wanting to replace our Coleman Fold-n-Go, but I was tired of scorched food and the wind interfering with the flame. For years I've been coveting the gleaming red sturdiness of the Firehole 100. Finally I could not withstand the desire and I purchased my very own Firehole. Shaking with excitement I unboxed the stove and fired it up in my backyard. To my consternation I could not get the electronic ignition to light! In frustration I clicked the ignition knob 3 or 5 times and VOILA... it lit! This never works at crosswalk lights or on elevators but trust me, it works every time with my Firehole 100. We experienced the camaraderie of group camping last weekend as my camp mates marveled at the smooth even flame of my Firehole 100. It was easy to get a few big pots on the stove at one time. It was easy to light. Water boiled fast. Best of all, we could simmer our chili on a slow lingering flame. Thanks Firehole 100!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Be wary..... This purchase was a huge step up from the old icky XXX brand I inherited from a family member. We were on our 3rd trip with it this summer only to discover white stuff was flaking off from INSIDE the stove - not anything to do with boil over boo boos. It was completely clogging one of the burners and diminished performance on the other, so my husband blew it out with our air compressor but it started to build up the stuff again only to have the regulator fail & all our propane leaked out. We were fortunate enuf to have a back up and made it the rest of the trip. We took it back as soon as we returned, but i broke down & bought another one hoping it was a one-off mistake & I love the 2 pot capacity and power of the unit. 2 trips with this 2nd stove & have noticed that the same white stuff is visibly starting to build....... Here we go again :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Paint peeled & ignition quit on 1st use The best thing about this stove is that it looks cool. If that's why you are considering buying it, then make sure you don't use it, because after that, things get ugly. When I took it out of the box, I was impressed with the styling of the product. I noticed right away, however, that the metal was a little warped and the paint was kind of uneven and had that cheap "Rustolium" feel. It looked nothing like the even, high-quality paint you see when you zoom in on the product image on this page. Regardless, the stove does look like a cool iPod dock stereo. Then I took it camping right away, and it got uglier. The paint close to the burners scorched and peeled during the first meal prep. I think the burners are placed too closely to the base. They are practically touching it. Also when I went to clean some egg off of the base, some of the P in PRIMUS came off with it. Also, the ignition device quit half way through the first use and did not work for the rest of the trip. Good thing I packed a lighter. As far as being compact, it is except it has a handle that sticks outward (instead of being molded INTO the body like a Coleman). Because it looks like a cool stereo, I had to stash it when not in use. I didn't want to disappoint any crooks who would steal it thinking it was a stereo later to find out it was a camp stove. I returned the stove on my way back from camping and exchanged it for the Coleman Triton InstaStart which looks like a stove and acts like a stove.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Well Purchased for a car camping trip out west. Plan to camp in state parks or KOAs that have a picnic table set up. This will be easy to load, unload. We were sold when we saw that the fuel cord is integrated. No leaving at the camp or forgetting it at home. The small propane tanks are easily found at camp stores everywhere. Sturdy, boiled water in 3 minutes as advertised (on a VERY windy night). Can't wait for our first meal. Note - some of the other stoves offer up to 50000 BTUs - we cook with gas at home and our hot burner is 12500 and that's HOT. I actually find the lower/simmer settings more essential for a good meal - and this can actually simmer without blowing out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stove I camp via airplane and typically go for super lightweight equipment. A stove is one item I decided to accept some extra weight for comfort and I'm very happy with this stove. It's not real heavy, easy to set up, light, control temps, and clean. Packs right back up easily and isn't too large. I wouldn't take this backpacking with me, but for use with the plane or a car, it's perfect and better than some "other" manufacturers that I've used in the past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Tabletop Grill with Propane hose Sleek red design , compact mold , nice smooth feeling knobs, carrying handle , Starter , and the best of all a propane hose which is stored in a clip under the stove. The would allow your to keep some distance and allow a bigger tank !
