Comments about Dagger Zydeco 9.0 Kayak:
Bought this boat at the sale this year and couldn't be happier. The seat and foot rests are easily adjustable, and at 6'2" I fit comfortably. It's light enough for me to easily carry it, I can hold it with one arm to the side if need be. It's very manuverable and stable, and tracks pretty well for how long it is. Is a bit lacking in storage and doesn't have a cup holder, but those things aren't really an issue with this type of kayak for me. Very happy with my purchase.

Customer Service Rep - TERRY
She was an excellent resource with lots of kayaking experience. She was part of the selling point and I also convinced my neighbor to purchase one also.

Comments about Dagger Zydeco 9.0 Kayak:
I have taken my kayak out a few times now. I just came back from a 2.5 day, 26 mile kayak/camping trip through the Rapidan and Rappahannock rivers in Northern Virginia. I must say this kayak handles great for what it is. It's a great boat for a little bit of everything. I took it through some class I and II rapids and it did great, it is extremely maneuverable especially compared to my friend's 10 foot Emotion. It also has better bottom clearance than most recreational boats, so if you are kayaking through some low water, you won't have to get out and drag it as often. There are only two drawbacks I can think of, first you'll need a dry bag since there isn't an on deck dry compartment, which was fine by me, they are only like $15 and hold more anyway, second it doesn't track super well, it likes to turn much more than it likes to track, if you stop paddling, expect it to start veering off almost immediately. With all that said this is a great boat for a little camping, a little rapids, and a lot of fun. She's very stable and easy to enter and exit. Also very lightweight, I can load it on top of my SUV by myself with no problems, and with a comfy padded adjustable seat, it's a nice package all around.

Comments about Dagger Zydeco 9.0 Kayak:
I use this kayak on a small lake 2-3 times/week to get in some paddling exercise. Im 5'8" and 150 lbs, and find it easy to lift atop my Jeep. The Zone seating system and foot braces are easy to adjust. The boat is somewhat slow, and plows rather than planes or knife through the water. But, for the price, it has features found on more expensive boats. The drain plug, deck rigging, and seat padding are all good quality.

Comments about Dagger Zydeco 9.0 Kayak:
This is the perfect beginner boat, there really are no cons if you're looking for a recreational kayak. Absolutely the easiest kayak I've ever paddled. Best on slower rivers and lakes; will also handle light chop in protected bays, ocean inlets, etc. I also now own the Dagger Approach 9 which I highly recommend as a step up from this one (whitewater crossover use).

Comments about Dagger Zydeco 9.0 Kayak:
I absolutly love this kayak. So easy on flat water, lakes, rivers... harbors. Only down side was when I and some friends decided to venture into the ocean. Where yes. it does do the trick... compared to their kayaks it was difficult to keep up. especially if there is any swell... but I still had fun nontheless... if you just use it to explore and not trying to break a record speed time... its perfect. :)

Comments about Dagger Zydeco 9.0 Kayak:
I bought this kayak for my son. My wife and I have Wilderness Pungo 100's and kayak quite a bit during the summer, but mostly easy, beginner type stuff. The Dagger Zydeco is a nice light beginner rec kaya. The biggest thing I find with it is the way it tracks. As soon as my son stops rowing the boat will turn left or right rather quickly. My Pungo 100 tracks straight and true even when not paddling. At first I thought it was because my son was leaning or simply pushing to hard on his last stroke. So we switched boats. The problem is definitely the boat, because it does it with me as well. My so, in the pungo 100, could coast just fine in a straight line. If you need to rest in this boat and keep it straight, plan on making many slight adjustments to keep the nose pointing down river.

Comments about Dagger Zydeco 9.0 Kayak:
I got into kayaking and got the Dagger Axis 10.5 due to my size. I wanted an activity for both my husband and me to enjoy together, so I purchased this boat for him. We have had nothing but fun. We go out on the kayaks at least once a week except during winter. It is his first kayak, and it is durable, stable, and handles well. We cannot think of a bad thing about it, except that there is no storage compartment or cup holder, but that is trivial. Awesome boat for an awesome price. Perfect for beginners.

Comments about Dagger Zydeco 9.0 Kayak:
I own this kayak, a perception sport, and an Old Town Angler 10. This is a great kayak. It is very comfortable and easy to paddle. Only thing that would improve on the kayak would be to add a bulkhead and storage.
