Comments about Emotion Kayaks Sparky Kayak - Kids':
This is not suitable for people 120 lb and up to the weight limit of 140 lbs. It becomes unstable. No back rest is a con. My friend is 120lbs 4.11 feet the size of a teen and he had a very hard time with this. Perhaps a person under 120lbs would do just fine.

Comments about Emotion Kayaks Sparky Kayak - Kids':
This is the best durable kids SOT that I have seen. It is a little heavy for the kids to handle out of the water by themselves. The handles on the side were poorly thought out and are almost useless. They should have included the ability to have a seat back for longer trips. Those are the only cons and that is not a lot. The boat is super stable, it tracks well, it handles small ledges and mild riffles easily, and the price is right for a beginner boat. I continue to be extremely pleased with the boat. My 6 year old can now complete day trips in this boat without a complaint. I would highly recommend it.

Comments about Emotion Kayaks Sparky Kayak - Kids':
Have owned this 1 1/2 years for the purpose of introducing small kids to solo kayaking. It is a great price point for just that. They control it well, and love it. Ideally suited up to 80-90 lbs. Once my granddaughter attained 100 lbs. (and hooked on kayaking!) we moved her into a larger boat . . . Should practically disregard the 140 lb. rating as it will float, but too top heavy and decreasingly usable at 100+ lbs. Side carry grips are not too helpful for water re-entry - I put a strap through the two drainage holes to make a hand hold and all the kids have been able to manage righting the craft and climbing aboard without undue difficulty. Small investment to get kids started. You'll need a paddle, but will be able to use that when they grow into a larger boat.

Comments about Emotion Kayaks Sparky Kayak - Kids':
My son developed good paddling skills on this boat. We bought it last year (2011) and he was age 6. By the end of the summer he was able to do a 3 hour float down a creek without much help from adults. If you want your kids to learn how to kayak, this is a great intro boat. I just wish there was a back support.
