This was my first Ellington and I am pleased. It isn't very big or bulky. Easy to convert to a backpack and comfortable. The flap has a side zipper, lift the flap there is another zippered pocket.Outside underneath the flap is a phone pocket, another pocket, a key holder and another zippered pocket.The bag is open with a slip pocket and another zippered pocket. 2 opened pockets on the outside for bottle and umbrella and another slip pocket in the back. Lots of pockets! It is a nice bag.

I decided that I needed a new bag for an upcoming international trip, as the one I've used in the past was looking a bit worn. My must haves: side pockets for water bottles, interior zip pouches, and extra pouches on the front flap for storing odds and ends.

This bag checked off all of the boxes, but I just couldn't get over the fact that the top of the bag does not zip closed. When I filled it with a few items and tried it as a cross-body bag, I noticed that the top of the flap doesn't always line up straight with both of the top edges of the bag. One corner of the top of the bag was peeking out, and you could see inside the bag. Definitely not secure enough for my camera and passport.

The side pockets fit my 24oz water bottle, but I would prefer for them to have been a bit higher. I felt as though, while traveling, I'd always be checking the bottle to make sure that it was pushed down far enough so that it wouldn't fall out.

A cute bag for running errands, but not a functional-enough travel bag for my needs.
