I have every style of Vibram FiveFingers that they have avalible. My favotire of all time is the Bormio mostly because of it's professional look and rugged leather upper.
The Spyridon LS is their new take on the KSO Trek trail running and walking shoe. The best feature of this shoe that really sets it apart from the other FiveFingers is the mesh layer in the sole that helps distribute blunt force. So when you walk on rocks and other uneven surfaces it helps distribute the impact across a larger surface area on your foot.
The "rock block" effect works quite well. You will be very thankful this VFF has that feature when you accidently step on a blunt rock because you were not paying full attention to the trail. These are not just trail shoes though either. The work well on wet pavement to help you keep your grip while waking across the parking lot.
The fit and lace system remind me allot of the Bikila LS. If you hair a pair of those then I woud order the same size as these and you should be good to go.
If you like toe shoes but feel like someimes FiveFingers can hurt when you walk on blunt objects then this is the style for you. You should love the "rock block" effect.

Best VFF trail shoe ever! I wear VFF in one form or another 95% of the time when it is dry and even work in them. I run exclusively on trails, some very rugged and over-grown. My previous favorites had been the Treksports for most conditions and a size bigger Bakila LS with socks when it's cold. The Spyridon does everything it claims without undue bulk. I'm able to wear them with or without socks in the same size. There seems to be a longer toe pocket with a better bumper so even stubbed toes don't hurt as much. "Ouch Factor" on hidden rocks is better than many minimalist trail shoes I've had. I can run as fast downhill as any shoe I've worn and always run faster uphill in Vibrams. On my first run I took 5 minutes off a run I'd done for the past four months. If you run rugged trails, they're comfortable; if you haven't tried Fives on trails and have been afraid of hurting your feet, these are the shoes for you.

I read a lot about fivefingers before I took the plunge. Couldn't see how they could be as good as reported. Well these are.
Literally right out of the box, I took them for a four mile mixed terrain hike including rocky stretches, packed dirt and a short section on a gravel road. I wore them with an Injinji lightweight sock.
The first thing I noticed was the weight or, more preciously, the lack thereof. It's like the difference between Alpine and Nordic ski gear. Next was actually feeling the trail. After a few steps, it felt completely natural and I'm amazed how pleasant a sensation it was. It's as if I was barefoot but wasn't.
The instructions say to break in your legs and feet slowly. However I didn't have any hot spots, ouches or odd muscle pains at all. Actually, I have a champion Taylor's bunion on each foot which occasionally give me problems in my other boots-not a whimper or a whine in the LS. Not bad for a premier outing in a new pair of anything.
I couldn't be happier. The Spyridon LS is just what I hoped it would be:a comfortable, light weight, cool (in both senses of the word) and believe it or not relaxing pair of shoes for the trail.

I have been trying to get a pair of Vibrams that fit and feel great for awhile now. I first tried the Komodos and kept having to return them and never got them to fit correctly and they also would end up falling part with in weeks. I finally went for these and its the best shoe i have every bought.
They are amazing for trail running for hiking for scrambling for everything you might encounter on a trail. These shoes have been comfortable for everything and are the only hiking shoes I use now.
Every other shoe i have had will at first rub the back of my heels and cause problems until they get broken in. With theses they were comfortable from the first second I wore them and I was even able to wear them after other shoes rubbed my ankles raw.
Ultimately I am in love with these shoes and wear them or everything that involves the outdoors and its amazing that I ever talk them off.

I bought these about a month and a half ago. They are very comfortable for starters. I have wide feet and these fit great. I am very surprised of how much traction these bad boys have. I've used hunting and hiking boots for years and these seem to be a hell of a lot more "grippy." I live in some very rugged Arizona country, which tend to be very rough on boots and shoes alike. These seem to be holding up well. I have trail ran and just casually hiked in them.
All in all, I look forward to putting these things on after work and just wearing them around they are so comftable. Whether I am hiking or shopping downtown these are perfect for both occasions.

This was my first pair of Five Fingers, and I got them to try with running. (On trail, road, or track). I run fairly regularly, and in the past have gotten shin splits. No longer the case! And I also began just putting them on for everyday wear. I love these shoes! and I've had great experiences out on the trail with them as well. This pair is a bit thicker than your typical five finger, and provides the right amount of sole to protect my feet while keeping the benefits of the five fingers.

So after two days of wearing them in, the Spyridon LS Trail-Running Shoes are the best pare of Fife Fingers I have owned. Running, bouldering, hell I use them on my bike when I don't want to use my bike shoes. The grip is fanatical and I hit rocks all the time in them when I run and don't fall to the group writhing in pain.
I can't wait until I am working this summer and can run around the woods with my camper showing them how hardcore their camp counselor is.
I am a huge fan of the bare foot movement, if you want to start out right with one of these odd shoes or a seasoned pro, I recommend these for anyone out in nature.

Great design. Terrific protection from anything a hiking trail can throw at you. Definitely works out some different muscles than usual, so ,as all the reviews say, ease into them. They allow you to feel the ground while providing the protection you need. Highly recommended!
