Comments about REI Flex Lite Chair:
Bought this chair for use around the campfire during Scouting and outdoor events. Clips right to my pack and is extremely comfortable, especially after a long day of herding cats (Scouts). Really enjoy how comfortable it is when watching 'Wildnerness TV' (aka: the campfire) or listening to stories of high adventure.
Just sitting down and sliding your butt down towards the lower edge allows you to totally relax. The mesh back is so thin you can get mosquito bites right through it! Seriously, this chair is awesome.

Comments about REI Flex Lite Chair:
This little chair is perfect for camping trips, day trips, nighttime skywatching, etc. I have a small car without enough room for a full size folding chair. I've also taken this chair on outings on my bicycle. I wouldn't take this chair backpacking because I try to carry minimal weight, but you could use it backpacking if you're more of a mule than I am. It sets up and breaks down quickly and easily and you can actually fit it back in the bag without too much difficulty. Unlike the similar A-Lite chair this one gets you up off the ground, is easier to get in and out of, and stands up by itself without needing you to balance it by flexing your legs. It's comfortable with decent back support if you don't mind leaning slightly back into it. The materials and construction seem sturdy.

Comments about REI Flex Lite Chair:
I'm really a little too old to call myself an 'avid' adventurer but I still get out and about. This little chair is perfect for motorcycle camping and wouldn't be bad at all for some backpacking. It's featherweight, very sturdy and I can testify to its ability to easily support 250 pounds (oops!).

Comments about REI Flex Lite Chair:
I'm really impressed with this chair. I just took it motorcycle camping and it was really comfortable setting up next to the campfire every night. Plus setup is super quick and simple. Not sure I would take it backpacking, but for this use, it was awesome.

Comments about REI Flex Lite Chair:
This chair was great! I bought it for viewing the Tour of California bicycle stage race and it worked superb. Easy to carry in my bike messenger bag, and set up on the side of the road to wait for the cyclist to come ripping by. Light enough that I could climb 3000' up Mt. Diablo to watch the pros go by. I was one of very few spectators with a great seat. Just set it up in 30" and I was drinking a brew, while my friends looked for a Rock to sit on. Thanks REI.

Comments about REI Flex Lite Chair:
1. To heavy.
2. Requires 4 level points of floor contact for seating, so you can't sit on a hill or uneven surface.
3. Chair is bulkier and will take more pack space then other options.
4. The small legs will dig into soft soil.
5. The poles are think and heavier then other options.
6. Can't rock back and forth in this chair i.e. only one seated position.
7. The pointy legs won't let you sit in your tent with the chair, as leg ends might poke through tent floor.

Comments about REI Flex Lite Chair:
Three of us are using these now and find it to be a great chair for backpacking because of the light weight and small size. Very comfortable. In cooler weather you will need insulation because of the light weight net material. Also the feet will sink into duff material, sand, snow and such. We have already figured a solution for that though. Well made and look forward to years of use.

Comments about REI Flex Lite Chair:
When I saw this chair at REI I was skepitcal that it would be comfortable or hold my weight; I'm 6'1" 210#. Most folding chairs the back support is at a 90 degree angle to the seat, uncomfortable for any length of time. This chair is more like a hamick and is very comfortable. It sits low off the ground, about 9 inches, so I suppose it might be hard getting out of it if you have bad knees or are old. My wife calls it a baby chair but reluctantly admits it's more comfortable and easier to carry than our big clunky folding chairs.

Comments about REI Flex Lite Chair:
I just got back from a three day backpack trip where I used this chair every day. I wasn't sure if it would justify the weight, but considered it my "luxury" item. It was so awesome having a chair sitting outside my tent door to sit in to put my boots on, and I also sat by my campstove in the mornings in it and just contemplated the beautiful scenery. Although lightweight, it is surprisingly strong. It easily holds my husband, who is 240 lbs. securely. And although low to the ground, it is not hard to get out of. It is easy to put it together and to take it apart. The mesh seat helped keep the chair dry, even with the morning dew. Awesome product!

Comments about REI Flex Lite Chair:
great for carrying on carry-on bag for air travel. Would be more comfortable if the back were higher, but then it would weigh more and be larger to pack...a trade-off. Fits tightly in carry case and can be tricky to get back in, but after a few times you kinda get used to it and it gets easier.
