Comments about The North Face Single-Track Hayasa Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I was a little hesitant about a trail running shoe from North Face, only because I had never seen them before. The only CON I have is that the overlay fabric came unglued after the second time I wore them in two spots. If the store was closer to me I would have exchanged them, but it really had no effect on the performance of the shoe.
I like low profile trail shoes and my last ones were Montrail. I was happy with the little extra cushion in the Hayasa. The rock plate was decent and the tread did not wear quickly. I ran from my house to the trails (a requirement for my trail shoes is that they can handle some pavement)and the treads kept up with 4 months of training. My culminating event was a mountain marathon in Washington and the Hayasas performed great. I felt fast, they drained water quickly and did not pick up any rocks in the treads. I would consider this shoe again.

Comments about The North Face Single-Track Hayasa Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
First, please know that I don't own these shoes. I tried bought them, took them home, wore them around the house, but never actually tested them.
These fit well, and are very comfy and light weight. The reason I didn't keep them…treads, or lack there of. Online, they look good, but in reality, they look like a pair of trail shoes that have about 400 miles on them already. I think trail shoes, I think burly bottoms, these, look more like a cool pair of road shoes.

Comments about The North Face Single-Track Hayasa Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
First off, these shoes feel great. They are very airy and have ample support and cushion for the weight. They also look great which should be secondary, but these look fast!
I have serious concerns about how long these will last.
First off the lacing guides run parallel to the length of the shoe, and they are soft cloth. Pulling on the laces puts force pulling the guides towards the middle of the shoe. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the guides start tearing or the laces start cutting through the guides after multiple uses.
Secondly, the soles do not appear to be a high density rubber, thus are not going to last more than a few hundred miles. The tread on mine started showing wear after about only 25 miles of mixed off and on road usage. I have virtually no pronation and I wear my shoes out almost perfectly even. Comparably, my previous pair of Adidas lasted over 1000 miles and I can still use them if I have to. 1000 is a little much to hope for and probably well past the reasonable expectations for any shoe, but these appear to be wearing very quickly. If they can make it 500 miles, they'll worth it for a light weight racing or trail running shoe. If these shell out after 200, go find something else.
