Rated3out of5bytraveling andreafromGreat LITTLE BagAfter using my first Haiku bag for years as my travel handbag that could carry my DSLR camera, and extra lens, a journal, pens, my wallet, phone, and a water bottle (plus random knick-knacks), I was pretty disappointed that the capacity of this bag was so tiny. In fact, I cannot even comfortably fit my camera in there by itself.
There are ample pockets which are convenient and a nice feature. I love the blue color that I got, the design, and eco-friendly nature of Haiku.
I don't think the water bottle pocket INSIDE the bag is very useful either. For times when ice water condenses on the bottle, or you don't quite screw the top on tight enough, there is high potential to have a damp or flooded bag.
I kept it because I'm in Hawaii and it was too hard to return to REI once I got it here. And, I needed a new bag to run around the city with.
Overall, the size was the biggest disappointment. Next time I will compare and research more in advance of my purchase.

Rated5out of5byCynCityfromMy Go-To Everyday BagI love this bag. I bought it in orange so the dirt might not show on darker colors. Not only do I regularly get compliments on it (I love boasting that it's made from recycled material), it holds EVERYTHING. I bought it for a trip to Thailand in May 2012 where we stayed in a 5 star hotel to attend a wedding and slummed it with backpacks the rest of the trip. First, I love the comfortable, adjustable strap. I can wear it short on one shoulder or long as a cross-body bag. Currently, it holds my e-reader in the back zippered pocket, a ring box and vitamin case in the back side zippered pocket, a wireless speaker, gloves, a scarf, large wallet, make-up case and a packable down jacket in the main compartment, unopened mail and assorted miscellaneous stuff in the remaining 3 pockets (plus about 10 writing implements in the internal mesh pocket designed to hold a water bottle). It has been a life-saver on trips when I need to carry-on a lot of stuff/valuables and have it easily accessible but safe. Only comment to the manufacturers: please coat the bottom of the bag with a durable, water-resistant material (much like what the flower print on the front is comprised of). I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to set the bag down but can't due to wet or otherwise icky surfaces (bathroom stalls come to mind). I now have a few mystery stains on the bottom that could have been prevented if the bottom was made of either a waterproof material or coated canvas. Otherwise, Haiku nailed it with this stylish, practical, versatile purse/travel bag. I LOVE it!

Rated5out of5byNicole59fromMy go-to bagThis is the first Haiku product I've owned. I fell in love with the bright orange color and contrasting liner in the store and now that I've been using it, I love it's functionality. I'm a student and use this bag every day instead of a backpack. My iPad fits perfectly in one of the separate pouches. It is durable and comfortable, and forces me not to carry too much stuff.
I like that it has the magnetic flap but also a zipper closure when I'm using it as a purse and want a bit more security
I do wish that it had a small pocket for a writing utensil. I tend to fish around in the bottom of the bag for my pen

Rated3out of5byBrookeTroutfromCute purseThe bag is cute. I have the Sienna (orange) and loved the pop of color. I'm returning the purse 4 months later because the seam where the strap attaches to the bag has partially broken and now the secondary support strap is ripping (sorry, I don't know how to explain this better - so I attached a picture). Now I'm bummed REI doesn't have any more of the Sienna color. Guess I'll be out shopping around. I'd like to give the bag another try because my previous Haiku bag lasted FOREVER.
