Comments about Keen Oregon PCT Hiking Boots - Men's - 2011 Closeout:
The boots performed great on a 4 day hike in the Pasayten. The weather was snow and rain half the time and my feet stayed dry. The traction was somewhat poor in wet conditions. I had a fully loaded pack and the boots supported my feet very well.

Once I figured out how to cinch down the toebox I was hooked. Great ankle support, burly construction, good sole, and great water protection. The quick break-in period (if any) is the real deal. I was skeptical myself, but after throwing them on out of the box and taking a couple treks with no problems and a lot or comfort I couldn't be happier. The only problem I had with them was taking a while to figure out I had to really give each individual lace a significant pull to cinch up the toebox area and get the right fit. With that being my only issue, I can confidently tell you that these are awesome!

I got these from the outlet web site and am very happy with them. My Keen mids become my general use hikers and I use these for bad weather or longer hikes. They did come out of the box rather stiff so I broke them inn for a couple of weeks doing dog walks around the neighborhood. Then I did a six mile hike in the rain on rocky uneven single track without a hassle. Great ankle support and really nice traction. Slogged in the rain and through some running water and puddles but my feet stayed really dry. I have replaced the insert with the SuperFeet cooper inserts and they fit and work great. I normally wear a size 10.5 or 11 but with Keens I have to wear 11.5. I really like the room in the footbox and the heel doesn't slide around at all. I marked it down a star because of the laces. They are too long and a bit stretchy, making it a bit more difficult to really tighten up the boot. Also the upper hoks are a bit difficult to lock the laces into. But I am very pleased with these boots and plan on using them a long time.

Slogged through portions of the Lone Star Trail without getting my feet wet. Scrambled up rocks at Enchanted Rock and hiked miles and miles at Pedernales Falls without blisters, hotspots or any other foot or footware problems.
My feet and I like these boots.

These boots are great. I was an avid Keen supporter for quite some time, then I was let down by a couple of paris of boots in a row. These, however, are a product a company can stand by. They are sturdy, durable, waterproof, and comfortable.
There is little to no break in period and with a good pair of socks keep you going all day. The only downside would be the difficult lacing around the toe box.
