Impressive “Active” Boots from Keen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received the Keen Zionic NXT Mid WP hiking boots in Triple Black, and I have to say, they’ve quickly impressed me. First off, these boots are incredibly lightweight. They don’t feel clunky at all, which makes them super comfortable right out of the box. On my first hike with them, which included some rocky creekside walking, the performance was excellent. The grip was solid, and at no point did I feel like I was in danger of slipping, even on wet rocks. I did end up testing the waterproofing, and it worked exactly as advertised—my feet stayed completely dry. In terms of comparison, I’d say these boots are on par with my On Running Cloudrocks, but they actually feel a bit lighter on my feet. I really like that about them. Of course, the big question is durability over time. I generally take good care of my footwear—wiping them down and keeping them clean—so I’m hopeful these will last me for years with the proper maintenance. I also love how versatile they are. The all-black style looks great and works just as well with cargo shorts on a wooded hike as it does with jeans for a casual night out. I’m curious to see how they perform in winter conditions with a little snow, but so far, they’ve exceeded expectations in comfort, traction, and waterproofing. Overall, I’m giving these boots a full 5/5 stars. They’re comfortable, stylish, and versatile—and I’ll be wearing them often. Highly recommend.

Compared to other hiking style shoes I've have had over the years, these can be wore in various environments and even as a comfortable rugged everyday pair to wear around town!

Reassuring - feels great from the start

This is exactly what I was looking for. Very light weight, ankle support, and nothing digs in to the skin. Perfect fit, same size I buy in the Vans that I wear around daily. Took only a few hikes for me to feel like they were broken in, but it honestly felt like that from the start. Wore them inside the house out of the box for the first night, could barely hear me walking around the house on the floors, like they were glued to my feet and my ankles. I am very confident that these will do fine on the four day hike I have planned this week on the Colorado Trail.

Amazing grip traversing roofs

I had bought a pair of these Zionics cause of the soft rubber sole. I’m a home inspector that walks steep pitched roofs multiple times a week. These shoes have phenomenal grip and do not damage the roof covering. I’m back here to buy another pair, possibly mid height shoe, cause I wore my last pair out and now they’re not so waterproof anymore.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased a pair of Zionics. I wore them one evening in the house to break in. The next day hiked 7 miles and they performed exceptionally well! After a couple more hikes, I ordered a second pair. They are that good! I almost ordered a wide size but glad I didn’t. These fit perfectly. Heading to Glacier soon. These boots should get a good workout. Light and extremely comfortable and so far, very durable.

I had to go up one size vs. the Keens I've owned in the past. Other than that, the shoe is very comfortable. They have good padding around the ankle which makes them a dream to wear. The waterproof system does not make them feel hot or that they lack breathability. The speed lacing helps get them on and off quickly with a good ability to adjust for fit. I use these as Fall, Winter, Spring shoes to ride my bike with flat pedals. The soles are grippy and firm enough to protect your foot from the pressure of the pedals (or rocks or anything uneven you walk on).

Wore these on a challenging hike in the Adirondacks that I have done many times. They are light, the traction is good and the soles were much more solid than I expected. Had a moderate rain that day and never really worried about slipping. This was a 70th birthday hike up some very steep and rocky terrain. I was trying to push myself and wanted something lighter. . I have 3 other pairs of Keens and these are the best.

The perfect Keen 🥰 I love the Zionic NXT. I have had several pairs of Keens. This is their best boot ever. They found a way to keep great ankle support specially around the back heel (which I broke several years ago) and yet keep it lightweight. I’ve been wearing it nonstop for a week and I’m planning to buy another pair in a different color to have variety.
