Comments about Brooks Cascadia 7 Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I had just bought this shoes with the intention of using them on trails/track. when i first hit the trail that same day these shoes took care of my feet and legs. I've had problems with my ankle, shins, and knees due to my running of cross country and track in my high-school years -- when i put these shoes on i felt nothing but joy of running that i had during those years. Great cushioning and support. really good traction on any terrain and the color scheme is that bad; so far nothing to red flag it. As a coach now i would recommend these shoes to my runners who want to try trail running.
My final word on these shoes : Awesome

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 7 Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
My feet, size 12 width a-b, do not work with hiking boots. Period. For years Ive tried pair after pair only to REpair the blisters on my feet. Finally, I gave up in desperation and started hiking/backpacking in my Brooks Adrenaline running shoes.
There is a certain amount of leg and foot fatigue added to changing footwear styles, but when considering the options of massive blisters with spending a little time at the end of a hike to massage my feet and calves, I chose the latter. Granted, my ankles and calves are strong (built playing hockey) but I have yet to sustain an injury in my years since the switch.
One problem with running shoes: the traction. Among the many 20+ mile hikes I've done in the shoes, there were a handful of spots I wished I had superglued the hiking boot soles to those of my running shoes. Solution: the Brooks Cascadia.
Ive lost nothing, and gained everything. The comfort I've always known with Brooks running shoes is there along with added cushion, support and traction. Combined with my Superfeet insoles, these shoes are my escape, my confidence, my freedom.
Do I recommend switching from hiking boots to trail runners? ONLY if you're someone like me, confident in your ankle strength and not in need of the extra support.
Brooks has always fit me well and the Cascadia is a great shoe. They are not the only company who makes trail runners. If they're not your fit (like the reviewer above) don't trash them, return them and try another brand. That is, after all, why we shop at REI.

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 7 Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I have the complete opposite opinion from the first review! Best Trail shoe I have ever had! I have over 30 hours in the Cascadias and they have been perfect! Very comfortable fit and they have held up up on the trails excellently! I will say these are for low arch, over pronators like myself, however, for me, I now see why Brooks have a following and I am going to buy some Brooks Road shoes!

Loving these shoes for long distance trail running. Straight out of the box into a 25-miler, and the foot pain I've had from wearing other shoes is gone. They feel like bedroom slippers yet cushion the impact phenomenally well. Have logged 150 miles on these and am buying a 2nd pair to keep in the rotation! Will be wearing these at all my upcoming ultras.

I've put about 45 miles on them so far but love them! My heel stays locked into the shoe and they feel like an extension of my foot. I run on a trail with lots of roots and I feel like I can step on a few from time to time and the shoe will absorb it. I used to run in the Adrenaline ASRs and Salomans before that.

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 7 Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I've been wearing the Nike Free Run and the Lunar Glide on tread mills, road, and trail running. Lately, I've been doing longer runs on trails and I felt that it's time for me to buy runners that are meant for simple trails. I've done some readings and decided to buy the Cascadia 7 over the weekend. I tried them yesterday and completed 19K for the first time. I felt really good in them, not too cushy, with a good feel of the terrain. It wasn't bad running on pavement either.
Overall, this is my best shoes so far! Btw, I got them for 30% less at REI; 20% anniversary discount plus 10% because I complained about the slightly worn-out shoe strings (seems odd for a new pair of shoes).

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 7 Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I wore these shoes a few times in casual settings to feel them out/get used to them and have logged ~10 miles of trail runs on them here in northern NJ. The terrain is pretty gnarly with lots of rocks, roots, and mud in my area. The shoes performed wonderfully. They're very comfortable, the traction was awesome, and they seem super rugged. I had a couple close calls on some terrain and the shoes remained locked in where others would have given out resulting in a fall. Very pleased so far and am looking forward to logging more miles ASAP. Can't recommend these shoes enough.

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 7 Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
Had a pair of Salomon trail running shoes before this, Speedcross GTX, that I really loved. Thought I might try something with a bit harder sole as those wore out quickly (less than 8 months). Also wanted something a bit more minimal yet still with plenty of support. These had gotten good reviews and I tried them on in-store. They felt better than the La Sportiva's (though now I wish I'd tried some North Face).
While I like the traction they give on trail, the arch is weird. It feels like it's too close to the heel. Not too low or too high, just misplaced. I'm not sure if that's what's causing it, but when I run in these, it turns my foot further inward than I'd expect. Combine that with the shoe being narrower than the Salomons, and I had decent knee pain after the first run. I thought this might just be part of the break in period and gave them another 3-4 go's (about 3.5 miles of varied trail each time). No difference. Same knee pain.
Switched back to my Salomon's last night and didn't have the pain. Not sure what it is with shoe, but it doesn't work for me.

I have been wearing the Brooks Adrenaline for years and love them. Lately I have been doing more trail running events, so when it came time for new shoes, I thought that I would check these out. They were instantly comfortable when I tried them on and I bought them. The last is different from the Adrenaline, but the shoes are really good for all terrain and all weather. Plus, with their dayglo trim, they look very cool.
