Comments about Brooks PureGrit Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
Very comfortable!! Light weight yet give good support and ventilation. I wear them for my regular one hour walk around the neighbors (live in the city). I also use them when I run with my dog on dirt surface. My toes are happy although a little more room would make them happier! I love these shoes so much, I bought another pair in different color.

Extremely comfortable minimalist shoe but loose traction quickly even in the mildest of moist surfaces.

Great shoes. These were recommended to help with shin splits and they seem to work well. Lightweight & comfy--- I feel connected to the ground when I run in these shoes.

Comments about Brooks PureGrit Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
I use this shoe for trail running. I have been moving to more minimalist running shoe each year. Not sure how minimal I want to go, but these are a good in-between.
These shoes are extremely comfortable, light weight and felt great the moment I put them on. They do great gripping the trails - fairly technical rocks, roots etc.
The one problem, and in my mind, is a huge problem for a trail shoe, is they do not grip on wet surfaces. Yesterday, I was running on a dry day, but came across a stream crossing - where I had to cross some wet rocks. Needless to say, I slipped into the stream as I had no traction.
So as long as you stay on dry conditions and know that you will not come across any water, these will be great. But to me, the point of a trail shoe is to handle all conditions, including wet and rain.

An REI salesperson highly recommended this shoe, and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm new to trail running so I don't have much to compare it to, but they were comfortable from day one, and I want to wear them everywhere - not just running. You do feel the trail under you, but they have enough support and stability so you can navigate rocks and roots without any discomfort. (I also tried on the Cascadias and loved them as well from the fit in the store. Will probably end up with a pair of those for longer hikes on more rugged terrain.) And ordering a half size up is definitely true, but they fit like a glove if you do that.

Comments about Brooks PureGrit Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
Spent 2 whole days wearing them right out of the box, and didn't experience any breaking-in issues. Although completely comfortable, I find myself having to be careful when on ground that might not offer much traction when wet, such as wet concrete. But, they serve me perfectly well for cross country trail running.

i have been wanting to try more of a minimalist running shoe and the very helpful sales man at REI said that the puregrit was a good place to start. he was right! this shoe is very light and still very comfortable! i was a little skeptical of the tread, but it is indeed very grippy.

Extremely comfortable! The only down side is that the laces come untied pretty easily and the tongue is always slipping off to the side.

I got these shoes when my last pair started hurting my feet, and had no problem transitioning over to them despite their minimalism. They feel fast and light, and remind me to run with good form.
A drawback of their lightness is that the traction isn't too amazing--which hasn't been too much of a problem in mud, but they don't do super well on slippery rocks. I think they'd also wear out really fast if you were using them on pavement (but don't, since they should really be a trail shoe).
I would definitely buy them again. Despite the fact that I worry they won't last as long as my last shoes, the comfort, agility, and way they make me feel so super fast more than makes up for it.

Comments about Brooks PureGrit Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
These have been a good trail shoe. Didn't have to break them in - went on a ten mile hilly run straight off with them. They have done fine on traction except on some mossy slick areas they were slipping some. Impressed because they are between a minimalist shoe and a regular stability (kind of a half way type) and haven't had issues that I had when I tried the minimalist version. Not sure how durable they will be, but I am sure I will be able to get 400 miles on them with them holding up.
