Comments about Koki Bagaboo Single Bike Pannier:

So I thought this was a really cute bag and very spacious. However, the rain cover bag broke right after I pulled the string and had just received the bag. Now, three weeks of light usage every weekday on a road bike ridden about 6 miles per day, the bag clip has broken! I did not do anything out of the oridinary and one clip has already broken.

I will be returning this and attempting to get a whole new pannier. Not worth the trouble if it breaks after less than a month of light use! I am looking for durable foremost and cute is a second priority. Boo on REI for selling such a product.

Comments about Koki Bagaboo Single Bike Pannier:

I almost loved this bag. Unlike most panniers, it's girly but it's huge! Way bigger than the Timbuk2 pannier, this thing swallows a pair of sneakers, a change of clothes, toiletries and a few other goodies with no problem.

However, the strap adjusts to 2 points and is then secured using snaps. If there's any weight on the bag when adjusting the strap, the snap gets pulled off as the strap passes through the holder. And the snap comes undone on its own if there's any weight in the bag (which happens easily since it holds so much stuff). This then causes the snap to get pulled off as the bag falls to the ground.

1 snap broke, I gave it a second chance. Another one broke and now I'm giving up on it entirely. If they changed to the usual messenger bag style strap adjuster it might work

Comments about Koki Bagaboo Single Bike Pannier:

I was SO excited to get this bike for Christmas (I requested it from my awesome mother-in-law after seeing it at a local bike shop).

I was very frustrated from the beginning, because it was difficult to clip the bag onto my rack. I guess my bike seat is maybe a little further over the rack than most, which made it rather difficult to get the clip closest to the seat to snap on. Most panniers don't have as much bulk above the clips, so be aware that it might interfere with your seat a little.

So, getting it on and off was a bit of a pain, but I was willing to put up with that because it is so freaking CUTE! Also, the bottom is super durable, so I felt comfortable putting my laptop in it.

Thus, for about a week, I put up with the annoying clipping on/off. Another annoyance is that it doesn't clear my heal very well. I have to somewhat adjust how I pedal to avoid skimming it. Fast forward to yesterday, when one of the clips broke on my way home from work. Luckily I heard it snap, was only a few blocks from home, and I was able to save the bag from falling to the ground. The plastic piece of the clip broke, so even though I was able to recover the spring (which actually stuck in the bottom of my shoe while looking for it), I am not able to repair it.

I am definitely taking this bag back to REI today... but I am SO sad. I don't see any other bags that even appeal to me! I'm not sure what I'll use for my daily commutes now :(

Comments about Koki Bagaboo Single Bike Pannier:

This is a great commuter bag. It fits plenty, and the strap converts to let you carry it the way you want to. The rubber bottom is fantastic for when you need to set it down on a rainy day. And it looks good, too.

However, I have now repaired the clips on it three times in the 2 months I've owned it. The dowel pins work their way loose, and then the sprung part of the clip goes flying. If you can't find all of the parts to put it back together, you are SOL. Most recently, the one of the screws that holds the clip to the bag has come undone. A little bit of threadlock in the manufacturing stage would have prevented that.

Maybe it's a factor of the clip system that Koki uses for this bag, or because the bag isn't secured at the bottom and therefore puts a lot of strain on the clips. But really, Koki needs to improve their manufacturing standards.

If you don't have the know-how to repair and replace mechanical components, don't buy this bag. It won't be worth the month's use you'll get out of it before you have to return it for a different one.

Comments about Koki Bagaboo Single Bike Pannier:

I commute 10 miles round trip to work, and this bag carried my laptop, heels, change of work clothes and lunch. It fit everything. However, none of that mattered when the rack clip broke on my way to work -- twice. [...] I thought it was a fluke and the bag was so great for the office. It's been another 3 weeks, and the new bag's clip broke right as I pulled up to my office this morning. I'm VERY careful about clipping the bag to the rack. I'll have to rig it up with some bungees to get home. I won't be getting another Koki bag -- it's not worth the chance your office laptop will get spilled into the road or that you'll be stuck rigging it up to try and get home with your stuff. Hopefully I can get my money back and get a better performing bag.

Comments about Koki Bagaboo Single Bike Pannier:

I love the way this bag looks and functions on my rack but the moment I pulled it our of the box a snap on the shoulder strap broke. Luckily, it was the snap that would make the strap short, into a hand bag, which I would never use because the bag is way to huge to ever be carried like a hand bag. The other snap has come undone while I was getting off my sailboat on to the dock and just about lost the bag in the water. This being said, I have SEARCHED AND SEARCHED for a pannier that looks and functions like a normal bag that I can use for school or just around town and this is the only one that I've found that is big enough for my books and still has a relatively practical and comfortable shoulder strap. . .and it looks awesome. My seconds choice would be the Basil Single Bag Lady Pannier, but it is way smaller and kina looks old-ladyish (but gets great reviews on everything else). I plan on putting a buckle on the strap to replace the snap and also have a water bottle pocket sewn on the outside. I do have to say that, besides the straps, this bag is sturdier and the material is more durable than I expected.
