I have been wearing these shoes every day for the last 5 months for work, home, and everything in between. These are tough shoes and very well made, but the break-in period has been long and painful. When I first got the shoes, I got two blisters the first day of wearing them, one each heel. Since then, I have not had any blisters but the shoes remained stiff and uncomfortable. I am sort of a "grin and bear it" type of guy with the rationality of, "Hey, you bought these things, so learn to like them!" Finally, after more than five months, they are just now starting to feel good. If they had been free of charge with no personal investment, I would have stopped wearing them four months ago. (Or, if I had bought them from REI with their incredible return policy, I would have returned them four months ago.) I think one month of everyday use is PLENTY of time to allow for break-in.

Other than the stiffness and uncomfortable break-in, these shoes look good, are durable, and have excellent traction. I wear them with khakis, jeans, and adventure pants. However, I would not recommend them to a friend.

Comments about Keen Bidwell Lace Shoes - Men's:

I work in the emergency room as an RN and spend long hours on my feet. These shoes have helped tremendously with foot fatigue and look good doing it. The only con is that they are not waterproof; however, they are leather so obtaining a leather protectant for waterproofing isn't difficult.
