I ordered this jacket after I came back from a ski trip, so I haven't tried it in the snow yet. This review is based on the construction and features of the jacket.

This is my first Gore-tex shell, so I'm expecting great things from it. Examining the stitching and the fit and style of the jacket, I'm extremely pleased with it. Another excellent Marmot product. I usually take a large in other Marmot products like their softshells and those fit me quite snugly, this jacket has room for layering underneath, which is exactly what I was looking for. It has all the features that I need for skiing, so I can't wait to take it on my next ski trip!

The jacket is very lightweight, doesn't constrict movement at all, keeps you dry, and with the pit zips, it is easy to regulate body temperature.

Let it be known that I am not an expert on moisture wicking materials, but my opinion is that it is somewhat over rated and the more important part is the ease of using the pit zips to regulate your temperature to prevent sweating.

I've only worn the jacket on three occasions to date; the first was a blue bird ski day at My Hood Meadows where I ended up stripping layers off as the day went on until i just had the marmot cervino shell and a t-shirt on underneath, then a second ski day at Meadows where it rained the entire time and the jacket kept me dry, then again on a snowshoe trip in 20 degree weather where i was warm using just the shell and a thermal baselayer.
